This summer we spent 2 weeks on Tenerife and La Palma in the Canary Islands. These are fantastic locations for the night skies. Of the two islands, La Palma was our favorite. It's less developed than Tenerife and houses the fantastic collection of international telescopes which provide great backgrounds for timelapse and astro photos. We have produced a short video of timelapse photos and I'll post some still photos soon.

All the timelapse frames were taken with a Pentax K1

We considered moving to La Palma when His Nibs retired.
Didn't happen, but still our favourite island.
I am surprised you were allowed to be up by the telescopes at night. The road is normally closed at dusk to cut out any risk of light polution.

Nice to see a touch of airglow as well.

Thanks for the comment. La Palma is certainly our favourite island for Astro. The road is closed an hour before sunset. But you can park on the main road and take the signed footpath behind them at night. Just your headlamp down. Will post some photos next week
