Yes, that's fair enough - you've got to enjoy it where you can...

... albeit not actually on the pitch, usually...

Now that England has lost the ashes with a completely dismal, Geoffrey Boycott derision-ridden display of uselessness, would the moderators make an exception, and allow us to heap tons of ritual abuse in revenge, on the Aussie for getting his battery in the wrong way round?

Smart alec!
You were supposed to call me a whingeing Pom [/quote]If you insist...

And remember - England do win their matches quite often ... unlike a certain other team who, in their last 18 ODI matches against Test nations have lost 17 and no result in the other and when all ODIs are considered they did not win a match until 2006!
Hmm... your point being?

LATEST UPDATE.

I am writing this outside the offices of the Pentax distributor, CR Kennedy.

Kenji there was able to safely remove my battery and the camera appears to be running nicely!

Thank you to all for the support.

And whilst I don't personally follow the cricket, I know we are going to clean you up at each and every opportunity!
Any more comments like that and we will have to reconsider giving advice!

So, what did they do? And did they properly thank you for bringing a problem to their attention?
No, I received no thank yous, but I gave a few!

How did he get it out?
As he was knowledgable about the interior workings of the battery, he knew where he could pierce the battery with screws which he then used to withdraw the battery using pliers.

Sorry I've been away -- rather busy these past few days.

Busy melting in the 40 degree heat...

Today is only 32, so I am only sweating profusely.

When I get home tonight, I'll take a shot of the battery so you can all see where he punched the holes.

Meanwhile, here is a shot of the waxing moon I took at the beach the other night: one of the first shots I have taken with my K-5 II.

Image taken on a Pentax K-5 II, using an unfiltered SMC DA L 55-300 mm lens at 300 mm, 1/80 sec, f16, ISO 200. Processing: Pentax DCU4. Time/Date: 22:59 AEDST 19/12/2013

Another update.

Pentax have written back telling me that this is impossible.

They have also invited me to bring it in to thier local repair centre.

I will be doing so tomorrow.

I will keep you all posted.
If they are telling you it is impossible, and you have achieved it without any real effort, then you may have found a design flaw.

I would suggest also taking some pictures before you go, just for future reference.

When they see it, and cannot believe it ... you then have an upper hand. Suggest that they resolve the problem and also "reward" you for doing their testing!
You are a bona fide genius!

Will do!

Thank you!
