The comparison link is just what I thought.
Unlike John, I do use 3rd party batteries. Having said that, the only 3rd party batteries I will buy are the Hahnel ones. Any others I won't consider.
But thats me.

Comment by Offertonhatter posted on When the FF Pentax comes out, what lenses can you use from day one? at 12/10/2012 - 22:11

Yes please!
I have been wanting a Pentax FF for a while.
I am fortunate that the day the FF Pentax comes out, I already have a range of lenses that will work with FF already

However, Pentax will need to produce a number of lenses - especially zooms - that will meet the needs of the enthusiast, and the pro photographer, especially from day one.
Namely (if we use N***n as an example) a 14-24, 24-70, and 70-200mm. The latter two in particular are "must have zooms" in the pro community.
As for primes, well apart from a fast 135mm, I can see the FA Limiteds and my very own F-28mm and FA-50mm lenses being rather pleasent to use on FF

Bring it on!

I have both Lightroom and CS6 on my lappy. CS4 and LR1 on the (old) PC.
TBH my experience with LR was the first version, which was a hateful program. However LR3 is excellent!
Still I still use CS6 most of the time, because I have had various incarnations of Photoshop and now very used to it. Each variant has given me extra features that are very useful. The best bit is the CameraRaw, with the version on CS6 is brilliant with my K-5 RAW files, I shoot DNG which work best for it too.
With lightroom. I now like it, very flexible tool and cheap too now. But I still only use it for batch processing, such as my Theatre photos.

Silkypix, I never got to grips with, not really a user friendly interface for me, and i'm an IT analyst!

The Price is on one of the authorised dealers:-

http://www.ukdigital.co.uk/samyang-t-s-24mm-f35-ed-as-umc-tilt-shift-lens-pentax...

£999

Still that is £700 less than street price of the Canon equiv, and a LOT less than the Schneider version.

I am still tempted, but need to save up more.

Bojidars website is the perfect place to know about K-mount lenses.

http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/

It gives you a list and specs of practically all K-mount Pentax lenses.
Some are readily available, some rare. But worth a read nevertheless

The Only thing it does not do is describe how they perform, but of course they are Pentax lenses, so will be fine........

Hope it helps

Interesting thing though. If this has been a problem, are they going to repair/replace existing lenses that we currently have?

Worms and Can spring to mind.

Hmmmmmmm

Good news all.

Pentax have finally admitted that there has been an issue with the SDM on these lenses and rectified it with lenses made from 2012 onwards.

Link is from the other forum

link

I wonder if it makes them faster too, or is that just wishful thinking.

True Robin, but I was giving an example of a certain M43 model that has now grown so much that it defeats the whole point of M43.
Sure the OM-5 and G5 are a lot smaller, but they are the whole point of M43. The GH3 is not.
Mind you it is aimed more at videographers rather than photographers, and they may rather have something more substantial, but if you are a videographer why not get a video cam in the first place?

Anyway, this is beginning to go off topic, back to the K-5 mk2.

Actually when they've got an integral grip they are fairly massive beasts - I love the compactness of the K-5 in comparison
Case in point, that new Pano GH3 is the size of an entry level DSLR, and as the K-5 is about the same size too, it is the same size as the K-5!

One question, I have not found any comparisons yet, what are the differences between the K-5 and K-5II?
I have heard an improved sensor, and improved AF system, but apart from that, not much. :

Still I may consider the K-5IIs for studio work.
Oh thats another question, do we know if Pentax are going to provide software to correct moire, or is it going to be a pain in PS......
