These last few months have really been problematical for me - Life has been really tough and I've been unable to get out much .

My confidence has vanished - the K-x is sitting there with its new 35mm lens on ready for use - but I lack the will power to go out and use it .

Hopefully once better weather is here I'll put it in the bag and once again get out and enjoy myself.

I know this feeling well and unfortunately I'm just not sure of my abilities anymore and with that my enjoyment vanished as well. I think maybe just to hard on myself and unless it's perfect I feel I've wasted my time. So maybe the mojo will return in 2011.

Chinon f/1.4 is the 55mm it has really nice Bokeh, but usually
costs about £60. The 55mm f/1.7 isn't much different and is
cheaper. At £30 for yours it's certainly a bargain.
Thanks for the feedback guys it's a keeper for me. I have seen the M42 55mm f1.4 but as you say they tend to go for around £60. I think they are also may have been made by Tomoika so it should be a quality piece of glass.

Unfortunately after moving away from all manual lenses I've been dragged back in again. I just couldn't resist this one at £30 inc P&P.

I'm happy with the sharpness and general look of the pictures but what do you think? both were taken in doors at f1.4 and hand held. Both also have been cropped.

The Little Green Button - opens up a hole range of classic glass to amuse ourselves with, if it fits we can use it.

It's pleasing to know not everyone is out there to screw everybody else, well done that man. I nice little Christmas present for the both of you.

Just a quick question, I recently picked up this lens but I can't find a review on it, plenty of reviews on the APO Macro and the DL Super Macro but none on the APO Super Macro. I'm assuming it's along the same vein as the APO, unless you guys know otherwise of course. Thanks in advance.

To be honest I find using older lenses annoying, since the stop-down metering is rarely accurate. Better to just go full manual and be done with it.

That said, I do use old lenses in this way, when I want a different experience. But they are too slow and prone to exposure error for me to take to a gig.

If Pentax would fix the crippled mount and the metering the story would be different.
I recently came to the same conclusion and sold my little collection of M lenses on and are now in the process of replacing them with the A series, which are so much quicker and easier to use and as mentioned above I've had no exposure errors.

@noddy do you mean This M42 135mm review ?
No sorry that's not the one the guy used the graphs, I've been looking for it again, if I find it I'll post the link as it makes for very interecting reading. I feel sometimes a lens reputation can sometimes spread without any basis in fact.

Which Jupiter would that be? They don't seem common in the UK and I don't fancy importing one and getting the inevitable ransom demand from Parcelfarce.
Any of the 135mm f/3.5's or f/4 I think they are 11A and 37A. I've got both and compared them to the CZ and they were sharper and from f/4 both identical.

I posted some test shots (taken in the rain) in this thread.

Some nice shots on Flickriver

The sharpness and bokeh on these is impressive (Pentax K10D)

I paid about £25 each for mine and ones the Moscow Olympics Special Edition.
I've read a very good review (which I can't find now)comparing various M42 135mm and I was quite surprised when the results shown the Carl Zeiss was not that exceptional and I believe the Pentacon had the edge, which begs the question why they go for so much?

Hi All

Due to crimbo coming soon and new upgrade time for me, it's time to sell my K200D which I've owned from new. It has about 6500 actuations and is in excellent condition. Both the camera and kit lens are boxed with leads and software. Also I'll throw in my M42/PK Adapter with the Helios 44-M for good measure. Unfortunately until we find the battery to the compact I can't post any pics.

Price will be £270 including P&P and Paypal fees.
The camera will be sent 1st Class Recorded.

If you're interested please send me a pm
