I like Nimitz "Castle" a lot. Lovely sky, good tonality in the castle. I just keep wondering how it would look if it got the B & W Infrared treatment :

Well - If you shoot night scenes with 1/250 I would recon the shot to be all black.

What you need to do is use Av (Aperture mode) and set the camera to f4-f11 depending on you DOF (how much of the frame do you want in focus?).

After that - the camera will decide the shutterspeed.

Use a low iso.

You will probably notice that the shutterspeed will be anything from a few seconds to a few minutes = use a tripod and if you have - a remote to avoid any shake.

I hope that helps.

Last one is an excellent capture. Really shows the owners concentration. Nicely done...

that fish is extraordinarily sharp for a small, distant, moving object.
And noise just isn't an issue.
Agree! Excellent camera and lens.

Some of the first shots looks like you used the wrong WB as well - or the colours are just screwed up/flat.
From what I learned the shutter speed was FAR too low, as was the ISO.
The park is very dark (all under trees) so by upping the ISO to as much as 800 in some cases I got a much more suitable shutter speed for the length and weight of the lens (the squirrel, which is the softest to me was iso 100 1/90)and so eliminated shake.
I know this is old news to all of you but I am learning as I go along and up until now I never used an ISO above 400 as I thought it would cause horrendous noise on the picture.

I was so concerned about the IQ that I emailed Chris at SRS Monday to order a 55-300mm but thankfully he has no stock

I am happy to carry on with the lens now until the DA*60-250mm arrives (if ever) as that is the one I am waiting for.
Yes higher iso gives you faster shutterspeed. But the colours still seems a bit off in the first post. Still if the forest is dark the colours should be right. Did you shoot in raw? If you did try alter the WB - I'm sure you will have some better results colour wise.

Last post is def. better - no doubt.

Some of the first shots looks like you used the wrong WB as well - or the colours are just screwed up/flat.

Thanks for the comment.

The tiger is an excellent shot - well framed.

I love the boardwalk - but I think you should have added more impact to the sky. Prieni did a great job. On the other hand you could have pushed the levle of black in the tonemapping to create a better and more contrasty sky.

Still - again - excellent composition.

Overall I tihnk you have a high quality. Well done.

Hard to comment on all of those. Post a few you want comments on.

I love you animal shots. I guess it is not real HDR but tonemapped single files. Never the less I like these kind of images.

Could you add the EXIF info as well as originals (uncropped).

This would help a lot.
