hi,got a k200,not used it yet but wondering what the k20 does better,if the kx is a equally good camera,or if k7 is worth its premium.heard kx works well in low light,is that the camera,or the lens its matched with, cheers nigel.

Hello Nigel and welcome to the fold. Yes indeed,it appears you may have caught the lens/kit buying affliction! When you get home, why not give some of the glass a go and then post a selection of photos? It will be exciting to witness the variances.
Best of luck,
Stephen
I cant comment on the k20 or k-7 other than i chose a k-x over both because of the newer tech and low light capabilities, i love it and dont regret my decision. another factor in making my choice was i'd of been annoyed if a few months after buying a k-7 they produced a new one with the low light capabilities of the k-x with the higher end spec of the k-7, so when they bring a new one out i'll be looking at my options in a year or so.
Some people also say the AA batteries of the k-x is a problem as apposed to the lithium of the k20 and k-7, i personally prefer the AA's, there cheap for good rechargeables and available anywhere, so if your caught short one day maybe slipped up and forgot your second set of batteries, you can buy them anywhere.

The K200D is a good camera and capable of producing excellent pictures. You won't necessarily do any better with the K-x.
As to editing on the computer, you will have to do some if you want good photographs. You don't have to go overboard with HDR, cloning or whacky effects but digital images need a little tweaking to get the best out of them, e.g., adjusting levels, contrast and sharpening. This is no different to making choices in the darkroom really, such as doing a test strip for exposure, choosing one paper over another or deciding on what grade of paper to use. If you are worried about noise, that can also be dramatically improved by using the tools available, such as the noise reduction in Lightroom 3 beta 2.
If you already have a set of good manual lenses, the best thing you could do is invest in a good quality split screen to help with focusing such as the one from katz-eye. I have only just fitted one in my K20D and should have done so ages ago, it makes a hell of a difference.
Good luck with photographing your child!
Best wishes, Kris.

Offer it for sale on here. Good place to sell as there are no ebay fees etc. That goes for your other excess stuff too! I have bought quite a bit of gear from forum members over the last couple of years.
Best wishes, Kris.
