Thank you for those kind comments. The Sunflower (yes, it does look like 'Little Weed') isn't my normal genre but it shows the versatility you can get with IR. That shot was taken with the 55-300 PLM which of course isn't supposed to be compatable with the K20D but it obviously works to some degree - the EXIF data says it was taken @ f8 (my normal for IR) but I suspect the lens was probably functioning wide open.

IR isn't something I'd want to do exclusively, but it's a great option if you can have a second body for IR. There seems to be a growing interest in IR at the moment. Having bought a K3iii, I recently had my old K3 converted which was the reason for selling the GX20

Infrared opens up a whole new genre of photography. You can shoot infrared at pretty much any time of day but it’s a great alternative when the light is too harsh for normal photography or when there are clear blue skies and it wouldn’t normally be worth getting your camera out.

If you’ve ever wanted to try infrared photography, it’s so much easier with an infrared converted camera. You can focus and compose your image through the viewfinder and shoot handheld at normal shutter speeds. No need for extra filters or long exposures.

For anyone not familiar, the K20D (like the K10D) was jointly developed by Pentax and Samsung. This is the Samsung branded version but apart from the shape of a few buttons on the rear, it’s identical to all extents and purposes to the K20D. I’ve had this camera from new. When it ceased being my main camera, I had it converted to infrared by Advanced Camera Services in Norfolk using a 720nm filter. I mainly use it to create high contrast B+W images but it’s also capable of creating ‘false colour’ images if you want to play around with channel swapping.

The grip on the left side of the camera is showing a bit of white discolouration from lots of use but it’s otherwise in good condition for its age with no significant scratches and no dust visible in the viewfinder. Boxed with charger, two batteries, strap, manual and all original bits & pieces. Shutter count 8,475

£165 inc. RMSD. UK only. Payment by bank transfer (preferred) or PayPal gift.

Below are some images of the camera and some images taken with it.Comment Image

The last three K1's I'm aware of on this site have all been priced in the £700 - £740 bracket (admittedly without grips). Hope that helps.

Many thanks

Really suprised nobody has snapped this up....I certainly would have done if I didn't already have one.

It's a great lens at a very good price.

For the uninitiated such as myself.....I can see how a tilt lens can help control converging verticals but what does a shift lens (without the tilt) do, please?
