Really like the textures and shapes in the driftwood shots. Beautiful bit of B&W developing.

You start us of with a cracker and follow it with another very enjoyable set. In No.8 I like the fact that the walking lady is less blurred than all and everyone that is static, quirkly enjoyable that one, glad you included it.

Congratulations Bill, I really like the shot it manages to capture a mood/atmosphere. I'm not surprised it was selected twice. The overcast conditions and the wind catching the tape are all components that take it a step above. Compositionally I can see for me it would be a tough one to frame up, cutting a set of swings in half but including the tower block, as others have commented you have a good eye.

Cheers
Nigel

What a lovely set to scroll through, well worth revisiting, editing and publishing for us to enjoy.

The Q is a great fun little set up at £164 it's got to be worth a try. I have the original Q but, I wonder if you would be better served with better image quality and a more responsive camera with a 1" sensor bridge or super zoom camera or a micro 4/3 set up. It's the balance between size and image quality which only you can decide what will suit you.
Some of the images I've seen produced by current micro 4/3 cameras have been stunning, members of the same camera club and a visiting photographer that gave a lecture.

I've never looked for this phenomenon but those variations are much greater than I would have imagined.

I'm going to have a go at this.
I think if you for example have the lens set at 200mm on a distant subject the lens does indeed give you the 200mm magnification that is claimed for the lens however if you then focus on a close subject with the lens still set at 200mm it gives you a lower level of magnification, not 200mm
As far as I'm aware this has zero impact on image quality as such, just your subject matter might be a little smaller in the frame than you might expect.
Now I wait to see if I've got it right.
Just noticed, you're another Suffolk Boy

Greetings all, Heads up this months competition is up and open for entries.

This month I would like you to take and enter an image of something that is homemade. Doesn't have to be something that you have made it can be anyone's homemade. Happy for photographs of almost anything homemade from food to major DIY projects to art and crafts.
The usual monthly competition rules apply. The photograph has to be taken this month, June 2020 and be taken with a Pentax camera or directly related clone. The winner will be expected to set next month competition, judge it and choose a winner.
It is for fun so please do have a go and enter.
I hope to see a few more entries this month please. Get your thinking hats on and your cameras out!
