Nice one Vic. As long as your Jesus screw doesn't come undone all will be well

Nice image Gareth and nice to hear you have picked up your camera. You capture such beautiful landscape and seascape images. Don't stop believing and I truly hope you continue to capture and to post great images.

Best wishes
Nigel

What I really like is the limited colour palette with the wheat coloured grass and in no.5 the ochre colour in the sky, making a nice mix with the dark trees and birds. You have taken the flat light in these and turned it to advantage in making nice textural images.
Well put, totally agree

Sadly I can't compare the two. I have the Pentax and consider it a truly lovely lens worthy of its *. I bought secondhand some years ago and so far not had any SDM problems with this lens. Its speed of focusing is leisurely by modern standards maybe but, reliable in my experience.

No.1 is lovely but 2 steals the show for me, just that small amount of tree and a building to ground the image and simply beautiful. Nos 4 and 5 whilst pleasing images to view have lost the murmuration to my eye. No.6 although not obvious I think is great. So 2 and 6 for me please Bill from another cracking set.

It seems to work! You can certainly see vignetting in the first wide open shot but, it is a nice gradual transition which can suit certain shots anyhow
Really like the B&W tree, maybe room to lift the black just a smidgen,

I think it is actually the D-FA 150-450mm. In Pentax land as far as new lenses go I think this is your best and only option. Secondhand there are the Sigma 50-500mm and the 150-500mm
