Interesting that Sigma lenses do so well, but otherwise broadly what you would expect, other than the DA 16-45 out performing the DA*16-50. If you read the intro the DA* 50-135 and 60-250 are still to come.

The Sony versions of the new Tamron lens have the SR system removed, so in theory a Pentax vesion should be simple.

Extract from the Tamron site: "The Sony mount does not include VC, as Sony digital SLR bodies include image stabilization functionality. The Sony lens is designated as “SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di USD”".

Surely just speculation on the Pentax lens road map??

Tamron have just announced replacements for their 90mm macro and 70-200 F2,8 lenses. link

While they seem to have great spec (both dust and water resistant) neither are available in Pentax mount, only Nikon, Cannon and Sony.

Which got me wondering, have Tamron:
A) Just given up on Pentax – sad as they make great lenses.
B) Pentax have done a deal with Tamron not to release K mount and like the 18-270mm we’re going to see these re badged as Pentax (DA* with the WR?) at twice the price?

But also look at the price of the lenses!

The 560mm is $7999 and the 18-270 $800. The first is just expensive, the second an lot for a re-badged Tamron.

One interesting point is that in the 560 description it says "a red anodized ring serves as a distinct, radiant symbol of the new HD PENTAX lens series" so it will be interesting to see what else is coming. Hopefully something cheaper!

According this AP link link Locog are now changing the rules on what cameras you can take into the Olympics.

The previous limit was that he camera and lens had to be less than 30cm. Now it appears that if you take an SLR or any interchangeable lens camera you can only take one lens with a max focal length of 35mm.

Ridiculous.
