NO, see I do read the topic, and I too have issues with my pentax equipment. Like any other customer, in any other commercial or amateurial situation, things go wrong, and NOTHING IS PERFECT.

I find it really annoying that you keep on moaning about Pentax when you've moved brands, and this damages the forum, and the poor new pentax customers that will now have a distorted (or negative reality) view of the brand.

We will all experience some kind of problem at one point or another. I know that you will have issues with your canon at some point in your life. Just get on with it, and stop ruining it for everybody else!

Regards.
Nathan

thank you for your comments.

re number 3: the model chose this overexposed shot because it is more artistic that the others of the series. all the others I have are perfectly lit, but this overexposure gives it a more interest look IMO.

here is an example!

it is exactly what he intends. Light that reflects off the background and illuminates the subject. Don is completely correct in saying that usually the subject should be further away in order not to have this effect, in this specific case, I happen to like the 'spill' (which btw i think is very controlled) and the effect on the model.
Nonetheless, I should try and buy a bigger flat, to have more shooting space!!!

Hello there

New photoshoot with 3 different lighting setups.
The model is a singer who needed promotional shots for various projects.

(Images are not cropped because they will be later cropped for the different use they will have. )

Obviously i am still learning, and experimenting with various setups, it would be great to have some advice on the lighting, and how to direct the model

Thank you in advance!
Nathan

- Black backdrop - Main Light on Ezybox - fill with umbrella - Hair light with snoot

I would suggest putting the camera in M and adjusting the Aperture (f-stop) and time by hand.
Perhaps taking suggestion from the green button, and then adjusting according to your likings.

ALl this, because it seems to me that you are unhappy with the automatic metering system of the camera. There are many variables for this to work properly, and only an accurate study of the manual will help you understand 'spot meter' vs 'centre weighted' and the fact that (as others already explained) the camera meters for what you ask it to meter. Not to consider the difference between sky and ground and the possible use of ND filters.

Regards.
