The mono version of the first is good except that it's a shame the cloud structure has been lost in the conversion. The third image looks rather soft.

I don't really understand why you would use the TC at 28 mm. The 28-105 is an excellent lens by itself over the whole range (especially on an APS-C camera), so zoom for any focal length up to 105 mm. Add the TC when you want to get more reach beyond the lens's 105 mm.

What a splendid window, and the way organ pipes are catching the light - superb!

I expect you (and others) probably to disagree but, from my comments in other threads, you might realise that I would like to bring a bit more out of the darkness around the window - rather similar to the level around the glowing organ pipes. And regarding the latter image - it looks as though it needs a slight clockwise rotation.

Cheers.

I do like the B&W, and I would probably like it as much, or perhaps even more, without the person.

A 'Thank You' to you both for your comments.

UM: I'm still using the free version of the Nik Collection from several years ago - it seems to work seamlessly as a plug-in to PaintShop Pro (mine is the 2022 version). I use only the Silver Efex module, for converting colour to mono in a very simple way - I choose the Preset that gives the appearance closest to what I want, then move the image back into PaintShop Pro for any further editing.

Cheers.

This is an image of white spring blossom, seen on a tree in a churchyard last Thursday. It was captured as a colour JPEG, using the Pentax KP with the DA 18-135 lens at 135mm, and converted to monochrome in Nik Silver Efex Pro and PaintShop Pro.

It's a unique camera appealing to a relatively small number of users at a price that is considerably less than the alternatives in other form factors and sensor sizes (Digital MF backs or Rangefinder APS-C).

I think this will be a success for Pentax, even if it is fairly small scale.
+1

Although it's cost is far out of reach for me (as is the colour K-3III) it does have a special appeal. The Leica Mono is up in the stratosphere and, if one wants to have a colour sensor camera converted to mono, it will probably cost of the order of £1000...and does that include bespoke firmware and controls?

I hope it is a success for Pentax.

If it can't be fixed don't bin it. Perhaps you (or someone else) might be able to use it as a monochrome camera.

From your experience, John, would you say that Pye is an irrational number?

A most enjoyable set - all great shots. As Steve has mentioned, number 5 shows the scale of the bridge, and what a huge structure it really is!

I'm happy to stick with my original comment. You have kept the adjustments gentle (as I requested), and I prefer and enjoy the extra detail. They are contributing to your "celebration of architecture", while retaining plenty of mood and atmosphere.

Thank you, David.
