Giottos MTL 9351B a very versatile tripod, put on any head you prefer and you should be happy.

I use ACDSee Pro 2, I download form the SDHC card and view the contents in a slideshow then delete the ones i don't want and process the others when convenient.

Welcome to the forum Jerome.
It's all about what you like to photograph or what you able photograph, if you think it's good or interesting then post it, be it in Your photos or the Gallery. My portfolio is biased towards flowers/wildlife but as I get more confident I am beginning to vary my shots and take street and people photos.
Just enjoy what you do.

I use the Sigma70mm EX DG macro, I find it makes a very good portrait lens and the macro is excellent, the only drawback is that the minimum focusing distance is only 25cm. I have posted some photos in the gallery using this lens.I also have one photo in the faces competition. Overall I have been very pleased with this lens.
