I've not been happy with the free web-space I had from Orange so decided to bite the bullet and pay for a domain name and web-space.
It's not the finished article yet but have a look and see what you think, any constructive critisism is welcome

Quick and easy to navigate around, lovely pictures, simple layout. I like it very much and there are many really nice images there.

My only negative criticism is that there are a couple which are not up to the very high standard of the rest. Still good images, but not in the A++ category of the rest. I would leave them out as they detract a little from the other ones.

Hope this helps!

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I understand where you're coming from, when I have a few more galleries up and running I'll go back and rationalize the ones I've already uploaded.

Thanks for the comments.

Lovely images of the Lakes, I spent the first 30 years of my life in Milnthorpe so know the area very well. Also use to spend the odd Thursday in Ulverston sampling the Hartley best in the days when the pubs used to have closing times. I sem to remember Thursdays was market day and the pubs were open all day!

Living up in Inverness now and I am also thinking of a web site for my images so if you can offer any help and advice on how to get started it would be most welcome.

Cheers

Johna

Very easy site to navigate around with the bonus of some good photography.
The older I get the faster I was.

Johna,
I'm glad you liked the photos.
I use Dreamweaver to build my web-site and have got web-space and a domain name through streamline.net

This can be a bit daunting if it's your first attempt at building a web site, however there are packages out there that can give you web-space, a domain name and templates to build a web site all at a reasonable price, I think this would probably be the best route if you are a beginner.

Looking forward to seeing your site
Cheers

Your site looks nice and clean but if you want to drive traffic from search engines you really need to move away from a frame based page layout.

There are various ways of achieving that depending on what you feel comfortable with, but be wary of methods that rely on clumsy javascript since that may also cause problems for robots and web-crawlers.

See "Equipment Used" on the site.

OP, this is a site after my own heart. Simple, straightforward, elegant, no gimmicks (except the use of frames).

Very good effort. And the pics are good, too.
