In no particular order, and bearing in mind that you'll probably get a different list entirely if you ask me again tomorrow:

The Shawshank Redemption
V For Vendetta
Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan ("KHHHAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!!!")
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
Hot Fuzz
The Matrix (first one only, they should have stopped at one)
Iron Man
Crocodile Dundee (preferably the uncut version with the bad words left in!)
Terminator II
Spiderman

if that isn't faked then it's the most awesome thing I've ever seen in photo editing.

to get a better look at it, point your camera at the sky or something else bright but uniform, stop the lens right down and take a shot. I often like to set the focus to minimum and use the ceiling. Doesn't matter if the exposure is a bit long, the thing you're trying to image is on the sensor so camera shake wont be an issue.

With the lens stopped right down you'll get a better defined image of the offending whatsamajig. It's probably a short hair or piece of dust.

My first port of call (and so far the only thing I've ever needed) is a decent blower, something like this would do you

no problem, I spent muchos time looking for the elusive "cheap, fast, sharp, long" lens when I started out. Of course in totality it doesn't exist but after a while you get a feel for which areas you don't mind compromising a bit on.

I had a Vivitar 100-300 f/5.6-6.7 for a while, that was diabolical and made even worse by the fact that it was very hard to focus.

The Pentax FA 80-320 might be worth a look for you, you wont get one for £40 unless you're very lucky, but the presence of the DA 55-300 in the marketplace should have pushed the 80-320 second hand price down a bit.

"Power Zoom" - fully implemented on the Z series bodies, some MZ series bodies were able to power the zoom function but didn't offer all the effects (the Z series could do tricks like zooming in during an exposure, the MZ are limited to powering the zoom motor and retracting it when switched off). I'm not sure whether any of the digital bodies can power them. Basically there is a two position zoom ring - in one mode it's simply a switch to activate a motor and move the zoom, in the other it's a standard mechanical zoom control. In the latter mode these lenses will work with any Pentax camera in the same way as any other FA series lens. IIRC four lenses were offered - a 28-80mm, 28-105mm, 70-200mm and 100-300mm.
The powerzoom works on SDM bodies so all the camera's with KAF2 (crippled) mount in this list besides the ist, *istD series, and the K100D and K110D because they are missing the SDM/powerzoom contacts.

If memory serves, the MZ-7, 10, 30, 50, and 60 also lack PZ contacts (not sure about the 5 and 6 as I've never owned one).

That man is a crazy person.

Sure the shots are good, great even, but the cost!

there's a reason why the 100-300 f/4.5-6.7 goes that cheap, it wont come near the Tamron and f/6.7 at the long end is a pain in the behind for focusing.

Pentax tend to under specify their capabilities so the AF will probably still work most of the time, but it'll hunt.

I don't quite see the logic in leaving all your bulky lenses at home in order to "travel light", then carrying a thumping big tripod around with you.

I would either take the zooms or leave the tripod.

I would ask myself

"is this a photography trip, or a holiday during which I hope to take some photos".

If the former, I might well go for the primes because they make you think and move etc. If the latter, I'd take the 24-90 or the 16-45 (but not both) and the 70-300 and leave everything else behind.
