indeed, the Fabia is more of a Polo than a Golf.

I hope the tow ball left a corresponding hole in the other guys front end.

the 35 will behave like a 50mm on film, isn't that a little short for portraits?

I use my 35 zeiss flek for small groups occasionally, but for individual portraits I'd say it's a little on the wide side.

Portraits aren't really my thing though so many people here will have a better idea than me.

Macros do tend to be insanely sharp, see my thread from a month or two ago on hockey shots if you want a demo of what the Tamron 90 can do. They don't look that amazing until you realise that they are both cropped down from 10MP to less than 2.

NOOOOO DON'T TOUCH THE SWITCH!!!!!!

It will activate "The Device"!!!!!

ahem, sorry, wrong switch. That one is associated with the Power Zoom system. The only modern camera which supports this even slightly is the K10D, and that is only because it uses the same power contacts as the SDM system. Ignore it.

I'm trying to figure out what that is. Looks like the pins on bottom of a CPU...
Correct!
Now I want to know what CPU

That is impossible to figure out from that particular shot.
been a while since I saw one upside down, but I'm going to go with something roughly Pentium MMX/Pentium II class (though obviously not a Pentium II itself since that was slot 1 only). Socket 7 or 370. May very well be quite wrong though.

the 18-55 is highly underrated, unless you get a bad sample it's actually an alright performer.

I second niblue's comment on second hand macros, I use a Tamron 90mm F2.5 with the matched 2x flat field converter to get 1:1 macro at 180mm. That extra focal length comes in VERY handy for "in the wild" critter shots where you can't get as close as you'd like.

I strongly advise anybody to get proper advice on the subject, rather than listen to people like me (and others who know even less) pontificating on this board.

G
Now THAT is a good piece of advice

you are supposed to declare it as income and pay tax accordingly of course, tbh not sure how to go about that since your income tax is probably deducted at source by your work. A couple of prints now and then for cash TBH I wouldn't worry about, but if you're actually selling them through galleries you probably want to do it by the book because the galleries will be.

IIRC you only have to be VAT registered if your company earns over a certain amount. Not completely sure though as my knowledge on this matter only comes from what my parents had to do when running their own business.

unless you are a VAT registered company you don't have to charge VAT.

If you're not VAT registered and you do charge it then that would be fraud.

If you are VAT registered and don't charge it you'll still have to pay it to HM Government, so you'll end up out of pocket.

Thanks Mongoose, I have seen it and is in my Watched items... expensive though... or is it worth every penny?
TBH I doubt you'll find a lens worth having for much less, you might strike it lucky but the good M42 lenses are always in quite high demand from Pentax and Canon users who use them with an adaptor on DSLRs.

A few months ago you could probably have found one for £15, but the runaway success of the K series digitals has pushed the price of everything Pentax on ebay through the roof, including M42 lenses and M42-K adaptors.

The Zeiss Flektogon 35mm is a lovely lens close focused, I've never tried mine on extension tubes or bellows though, and they do have a bit of a following so probably as expensive or more so than the equivalent Taks.

Here's a Super Tak on BIN for £29 all in

Here

I have no relationship with the seller, just did a search, so caveat emptor but he seems to have good feedback.
