thanks guys, the second one is post calibration and I agree it is a little on the magenta side so I think my screen is now pretty close to right

when I first did it the screen looked very green to me, but now after a couple of hours it looks pretty good.

I've just been setting up my new Pantone Huey with ArgyllCMS and it's made quite a difference. I think it's better but it's quite hard to say without a frame of refference.

So, all you people who are confident your display is right, which of these looks better to you?

I honestly don't think you can do better than the Pentax Sport Optics strap SRS have. It's got a bit of spring in it which damps the camera nicely as you walk so it doesn't bounce around. Rather a lot more expensive than that 7DayShop one, but I'd pay it again.

And to make things more complicated, isn't it showing the embedded small JPG when you shoot in RAW?
This JPG image is of a smaller resolution if I am right.
You can extract the embeded JPG using DCRAW, it's a full resolution ** quality file. Quite handy when you want a quick JPG without having to actually process the file properly.

Of course on the K10 you have in camera processing and Raw+JPG mode but it comes in handy with *ist series cameras sometimes.

my Dad did the exact same thing with a Super A, we never could get it off no matter what we tried and ended up selling the camera for spares or repair.

best of luck

Yes the teleconverter is manual - 1980s vintage from when I bought my original ME super

I guess I may be better off with an older 2nd hand lens
That or a newer teleconverter with automatic pass-through.

I have a 7 element teleplus auto converter which cost me about £30 on fleabay, they aren't necessarily expensive.

I've got a feeling its 14 days. Seem to recall being surprised that it was shorter than the more usual 30 days.

Silkypix

It has B&W - in fact two Monochrome mappings.
I'm not sure if the free version has Mono modes (probably), but that'll cost you nothing!
and of course there's a time limited trial of the full version, so if you're careful with when you set it up you can do all your neices wedding pics on the full version for free. Be a great way to evaluate the software too as I'm sure you'll have a ton of pictures to deal with.

Absolutely.

There were a number of things, including that one, about that review that made me think the '20 is even better than I already thought it was..
up to now I haven't felt any desire to replace my 10D with the 20, but the ISO performance demonstrated in that review was nearly enough to push me over the edge.

Nearly

There are still lenses I want before my next body upgrade.

Annoyingly I seem to be adding things I want to buy to the list faster than my finances allow me to clear them from the other end.
