I received the email and it went straight in to the deleted items folder. I don't own a Nikon SLR or a Canon SLR. However, there is a pocket sized P&S version of one of them in the house

I have spent the odd 30 mins or so voting - and never got to the end. Like everyone else it seems, I have my favourite subjects that I immediately dismiss. The titles don't often help the photograph either. I had a couple of shots rejected and just resubmitted without any additional work, and they were accepted next time around. Would agree that the software must prohibit the user from viewing their own work. Some great images do eventually appear though

For Macro photography, the pentax range of dedicated macro lenses do a great job. As I am sure you will be aware, 50 - 100 - 200 macro lenses start quite expensive and just get more expensive still. Just means you will be getting macro shots from further away from the subject the bigger the lens. 100 and 200 great for things you do not want to disturb whilst shooting (Insects etc) 50 will be good for static subjects and flowers etc. The A 50MM f2.8 Macro is a good place to start, or even the M 50MM f4 The FA 50 2.8 Macro is a stunning lens and is reflected in the ebay prices! If one can be found...It' big brother, the FA 100 2.8 is also a cracking lens, and more readily available than the 50mm. Probably just added to the confusion
