Yup! Even my sponge-like brain has not fully absorbed all 380 or so pages yet!

£10 per camera? Does that mean you have to pay £20 if you take two cameras?

You'll love it! Takes me back to when mine arrived. When you actually have the thing in your hands the last thing you want to do is read the manual. I solved that by reading the entire thing in PDF format (twice) before I actually got the camera.

No.3 for me, nice

I tend to find myself when photographing squirrels that they photograph better on grass rather than soil as they stand out better and you don't was a brown muddy looking image
Good tip! The colours of the squirrels do tend to merge into the backgrounds a bit with the shots taken against soil.

I like # 5 - there's a lot of humour in it .
Yup. I thought no. 5 was had a lot of character to it. Unfortunately the colours came out very dull and flat, presumably due to the angle with the light being from behind-ish. I boosted the saturation as much as I could get away with without making it look unnatural, but the colours are still dull compared to the other shots. Ah well, can't have everything!

Thanks for all the comments. My personal favourite is number 6. I agree the background is a bit distracting in no. 4.

Only the lower half of the fourth petal (counting from the left) appears burnt out to me. The rest, although bright, have quite a bit of detail for the most part. :

Anyway I would agree it would be better if the background was not so busy.

I agree, nice mushroom, and the first picture of the lights and the thinker especially are excellent shots.
Love the thinker shot too. I think my wife wants a fisheye for her Canon now!

DA 55-300, Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, Today. C&C Welcome!

Took a lot of boring flower shots too but they were just not up to the standards of PentaxExpert so I didn't bother to post them.

I don't usually attend these sort of things, but today was good, and the people I met were sound !!!
Agreed! I'll try to make it to a few more in future.

Sadly I didn't get much in the way of shots that were any good - not one of my better photography days, but it was a fun meet and nice to get to know a few people, which more than made up for it.

The below is probably my favourite from the day despite the slight purple fringing (minimised as much as I know how in quick PP but still visible). A bit cropped from the original as the 55-300 didn't get me quite as close as I would have liked. Admittedly I have a bit of a penchant for shots taken from extreme angles.
