I just love how you folks across the water spell "color". I mean "colour". I noticed the same with "flavor and flavour". I Wonder why.
The answer's very simple really. There is a clue in the name of the language, which is of course . . . English . . . derived from our home country, England.

So, given that important piece of information, who would you guess spells the words colour & flavour (and some others) correctly?

Yep, you're right, we do.

You see, you guys over there do speak a kind of English language, which of course we taught you in the first place, but somewhere along the line, somebody really screwed up when they wrote your dictionary. I mean, why give the job to somebody who couldn't spell simple words like colour, favour, and flavour properly? Beats me too.

Enjoy your American River trip, I look forward to seeing some results.

I think I have a similar adapter and it took me some time to realise that the 'spanner' extends too deeply into the mount. It springs the clips OK and turns the adapter a small amount, then I have to withdraw the spanner slightly in order to actually turn the mount to the position where it can be removed. Other than that it works fine. I think the adapter is OK, in my case, it's the spanner that is badly made.

RAW format means . . . just that. The image that is saved to the memory card essentially comes straight from the cameras image sensor. No post processing (EG: Sharpening or compression etc) is performed by the camera. These 'finishing' functions are then performed on your computer.

Welcome, and we'll forgive the spilling mistokes . . . for now.

But do tell, is your son still playing guitar and video games, or does he have a life now ?

Chances are, if he's like many a brit teenager, if dad's enthusiastic about anything, he won't be 'cause it ain't cool to like what dad likes.

Happy shooting, and get your hands on a Pentax digital SLR as soon as you can.

The fact is that anything that can be done to stop the cameras display firing up will help improve battery life. Reviewing photo's/histograms etc is possibly the biggest cause of battery drain other than actually taking the shot & auto-focussing.

I use Hahnel 2350ma/h Ni-Mh batteries with no problems on my *ist D.

Does ebay not give you enough opportunity to sell your unwanted gear ?

Should we be flattered that you decided to join this forum to market your wares ?

I think not. Those of us who might have been interested will surely find your 'for sale' items anyway.

If this is all you have to offer, thanks and goodbye.

I think they are well beyond saving. Just send them to me for humane disposal

I have a couple of lenses with a similar problem but its not affecting the images yet, not that I can see anyway. I for one would be interested to know the cost of a lens cleaning service and whether or not it is succesful.

Whilst the accessible glass surfaces are easily cleaned once removed from the lens barrel (that's not to say that the fungus is easily removed), the remaining internal surfaces could remain contaminated and it is reasonable to suppose that the fungus will again grow over the glass.

One defence against fungus appears to be to leave the affected lens in the sun for a while but I question whether we would then suffer from oil on the diaphragm blades. Does anybody have any success/horror stories as a result of leaving a prized lens in the sun ?

Surely the DX coding bar code on a roll of 35mm film only relates to ISO speed, not length of film.

I kept looking for a month and only saw one for sale, and it made more than the cost of a DS, even though it was two years old.
Depending on usage, it ought to be worth more than a *ist-DS even at two years old, the *ist-D is a much more capable camera. You made an excellent choice.
