couple of quick questions from a newbie

Not long bought an Ist D, and from trawling through a few threads it sounds like I made a reasonable choice (other options were DS, DL or Nikon D50)

The camera is still on 1.00 firmware so obviously I want to upgrade it - is the latest release 1.12? and where/how do i get it please?

If there's an idiot's guide to how to do the upgrade i'd be greatful too

cheers!

well i've used the camera a few times before (as it was dad's) and found that after a quick manual trawl i was getting some reasonable results. I was tempted by the DS/DL when i wanted to get a D-SLR for myself - but then i looked on ebay for Ist D's for sale - and couldn't see any

I kept looking for a month and only saw one for sale, and it made more than the cost of a DS, even though it was two years old.

This pretty much convinced me that in this case the older camera might be the better bet.

Depending on usage, it ought to be worth more than a *ist-DS even at two years old, the *ist-D is a much more capable camera. You made an excellent choice.
