Thanks for the link to the manual brian. The first thing I checked was 'Wireless Flash' and what a downer. Two AF540/360FGZ's are required just like all models except the *istD.

So is this a bad thing? Maybe not. The wireless range of the built-in flash is limited and although it is more expensive to use two 'proper' flashes, if it's more reliable then its probably a benefit.

According to the 'what's in the box' of the K10D on the www.pentaximaging.com web site, a Battery Charger D-BC50 is included.

Well I do have to admit to having had a couple of glasses of vino tinto today George but no, when I looked, the site definitely showed DA not FA.

Can you tell us the expected price (real, not the imaginary RRP) and availibility of the BG2 grip and spare batteries for the K10D please?

I called SRS to check pricing. £599.00 is what I was told with delivery of the first batch due first week November 2006.

I'll place my order as soon as the price is confirmed. I guess it remains to be seen whether first week in November is a realistic delivery date.

Bang for buck, what does the K10D offer to most of us, that the Sony alpha 100 doesn't at several hundred dollars cheaper?

OK, I know it is compatible with our range of lenses. What else?

I'm just purposely throwing petrol on an already blazing fire here. I'll be buying a K10D too. I'm just a bit miffed that Pentax could not have made the D-BG1 grip fit.
