You need to use version 3.01 of Remote Asisstant, available here.

Firmware updates are cumulative. You need only load the latest not any previous versions. It should be possible to downgrade firmware, but I've never tried it.

Regards,

Looks about perfect to me, but I'd shoot RAW to be on the safe side.

Make sure you have two cameras, even if the second is only a P&S. Failed batteries/camera = egg on face + very disappointed clients.

Any electro-mechanical device will fail when you least expect/need it to.

Good luck.

I too have been disappointed by the underexposed images produced by the K10D with either the AF360FGZ or AF540FGZ in any of the auto modes, especially P-TTL.

I tend now to use only manual flash modes.

When time permits, I'll investigate further. I never had any such problems with my Super-A + AF280T, or *istD + AF360FGZ.

Any new verson is worth installing as Pentax have been known to slip in other modifications, not necessarily obvious, without saying so.

Editing some shots taken on the old DL last night in Capture 1.....needed very little adjustment....

If K10D continues this vein of performance (not compatible with C1 yet) then I will be very happy.
CapureOne Version 3.7.7 supports the K10D PEF's.

Having read this thread and done a little digging around, I'm convinced.

I've ordered an FA 50mm f1.4, too.

...oh - and a D-BG2. Well, they had one in stock so it would have been daft not to.
You'll might want a second battery, not essential, but they are not supplied with the grip.

Lovely pics Lilly. I'm surprised that 1/750th/s didn't freeze the bees wings.

The last poppy shot looks a bit flat compared to the colours of the earlier one. Probably not the lens, just needs a tweak during PP I guess.

Great lens, I just wish I had time to find worthy subjects to give mine a bit of exercise.

Dan,

You're probably right of course. It'll be way beyond economical repair. Confine it to the back of a drawer until you have had the 50mm 1:1.4 for a while. Then say, in a surprised (well practiced) fashion, "Is that where I put that old duff Pentax lens ! ! !, might as well have a go at repairing it, I suppose?"

Job done, wins every time

Dan,

Fear not, it is repairable. I fixed mine easily enough but it dows need a keen eye and a steady hand, and plenty of patience.

There are two leaf springs inside the aperture barrel. These are afixed to the aperture barrel on plastic posts which have had the top melted to form the closure. In my case, one of these broke.

My remedy was to take the lens apart and glue the springs in place with araldite.

Beware: There are lots of tiny parts, ball detents, springs, etc. make sure you have a large enough work area to contain any bits that will (yes, they will) fall out.
