Thank you, folks, for your kind words. And you've backed up my initial impression that the lens works very well with the 1.4TC, so thanks again.

A little jealous of the first image - my pear trees (conference and desert) have decided to take a year off! Probably felt they worked too hard last year when we had a bumper crop
Mine took a rest last year and is producing a bumper crop this year. Goodness knows where it's finding the moisture in the ground! But the apple trees aren't producing this year .

A few shots from a car boot
Why were you in the boot of the car ??? But it has let you get some fine shots without the subjects noticing your presence. And mono does work well for this sort of thing.

Does the Tokina 90mm f2.5 macro play well with the Pentax 1.4TC? That was the question. So I tried a few shots in the garden to find out, using it as I always would - trying to get photos that are worth looking at in their own right rather than just technical test shots. Here are a few of the results. What do you think of both the photos themselves and how the lens + TC has performed?.

Soft, subtle, gentle, beautiful. And those trees make the elephants so small!

IT HAS RAINED!!! Only for about 30 seconds. The lawn is still brown, soil is still dust, the water butts are still empty. But it was REAL, WET RAIN!!!

Thank you for your kind words. Verbena is one of Mrs L's favourite plants, at long last I've managed to get a half-decent shot of it .

Having just received this lens from davidxgreen (thanks, Dave ), I walked round the garden with it attached to the K3iii. I was so pleased with the results that I thought it worth showing a few here. All from DNG files with minimal post-processing in Affinity Photo. Enjoy!

Thought, comments etc. welcome as usual.

The Tokina 90mm is now part of Lubbyman's grand collection of macro lenses . Thanks to davidxgreen for an impeccable transaction. First impressions of the lens, based on some quick snaps taken today, are very positive. I was going to put a few shots here as the finale to this thread, but looking at them again has made me think that they warrant a thread of their own in Your Photos. So if you're reading this, you know what to look at next...
