When i first saw Lilliy's pic i couldn't stop staring at it. I remember seeing a documentary on this tree some time ago and couldn't get my head around everything it may have seen over the 4000 years it has been around. If only it could speak
Yes, it was a pretty awesome and priviledged experience being up there amongst them at 10,000 feet+ in the cold still air and trying to imagine the times they had witnessed, a difficult concept to comprehend.
It is well worth a visit, especially if you get good wx like I was fortunate to have, thank u for your comments.
Here are couple more, without any fancy D&G work:

Thank you John for a great theme (my absolute favorite subject BTW!) and also for your comment re 'darker'., I shall now have to try it - just to see! Superb entries this week a most enjoyable gallery to view, well done to everyone else. Will post up next theme tomorrow, need to sleep on it!

You are very lucky indeed to have such a profession to take you to magical parts of your country. I see you take your photos with much emotion as I do - I find it difficult to do otherwise!
I wish this grand mama was looking into the camera though, surely she allowed you take one like that?
I am beginning to like your country very much from what I have seen

Dirk, your use of english seems to have changed lately, are you writing in your native language (spanish??) and using a translator?

I ask because the english you use now isn't as good as when you first started writing to us.
Apart from a missing plural on 'school', I can't see anything other than pretty damn good English there.
me neither....my Spanish is certainly not as good

I can see why you took this Dirk, pretty scary eh how urbanisation takes over.... such a lonely looking hemmed in church - how much longer will it survive?

Well Done John, very imaginative composition, nicely judged too Karma -especially as you didn't get first last week!
Although judging is fun I prefer entering, the trick is obviously not to win or even come second in this case

I've added a gallery to my signature, they mostly pre-date my recent DSLR acquisition but there are several shadows-oriented ones there.
Nice work (IR) I like
Loved the Jantar Mantar image, great shapes, I remember visiting there in '84, an amazing place.
How are you finding IR work with the DSLR as opposed your SLR days?
I ask because I have yet to experiment, any tips?
