Oh David, I have just spotted this thread today!

Yes, I was well chuffed as you can imagine to get 3 accepted, the exhibition you saw was amazing, I actually got awarded a DVD of the show itself and found the work very inspiring, infact being a member of the RPS has taken me forward so much and enjoy being part of it. It was also my first entry.

Anyway, I will try an dig out a decent sized copy of the HC "Happy Hour" for all to see, I might have it on a stick somewhere.

Thanks all for your congrats, dont worry I won't get too big headed

Thanks Dr Mhuni for my very very close second! Great judging as usual, I always enjoy your comments. Congrats to David, a great documentary image that was indeed a brazen risky business, shooting a high class jewelry store!
I did love Anvh's also, I though such an original and creative and original image.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
Its 1000am here Christmas Eve and there are the sounds of Christmas carols drifting through the roof tops of Jaipur, India unbelievable!

I think those messy sides holds it together, tidying an image up too much loses some reality and documentary feel about what I was trying to convey.
The way I tilted the lens at an angle was automatic, as some of you know I tend to do, I think it gives it drama as well.

Thamks David, Interesting though isn't it how important cropping & framing can make or break an image?

My instant reaction when I could only see the top third of the photo was: 'why isn't it square to the frame?' Then I scrolled down and realised that nothing is square to anything else.

I really like the shot and the conversion. Just spent a while looking at it to think of some honest C&C but the only suggestion is to perhaps crop a slither from the left hand edge to get rid of some of the halved odds and sods.

Glad the trip is going well.

Best wishes, K.
Hi Kris, Thanks, I did actually try what you suggest but what happenned was, was! I had to trim off top or bottom as well to keep the square format, which I preferred. But I will do another and compare!

Thanx Hefty, good to hear tones are good, the whole place was a bit shaky TBH not all my framing!

Hi girls and guys, well I have been in India 2 weeks now and the Samsung NC20 netbook I purchased is working good, though the 10" screen is kinda limiting!
I did say I wd try to resist to do much editing but just load them up and store on disc and HD. But it is hard, especially at nighttime and it is quite cold here now 5 degrees at night, not to open up a few images and play.

Not seeing them on a normal size screen I thought I would post up this one I did tonight, for some honest c & c?

All the best for Christmas, it is kinda low key here, great!

Good judging Hefty1, well considered!

You've actually inspired me to embark on a project - an autmotive alphabet. I've an appointment at the local Bentley dealer to do 'B' this morning. Surprisingly I've got 'Q' sorted but 'e' is proving a bit of a struggle.
Great idea for a panel Ken, what is Q??????????
BTW love you new quote! LOL
