from past experience, the usual answer to one Optio problem...
If you get a padlock icon on the lcd, and can't change settings, press the "quick" button, and take it out of "green" mode. That way you're back to full manual control.
I forget how many times I've answered that particular question, so it's a bit of a pre-emptive strike.

there's been some badly carried out editing on the left hand side, just above the shoulder, which doesn't help..
I would suggest a couple of things though.. her left armpit.. lift the bodice up a touch next time, so as top avoid the "double chin" effect. The other; the flash shadow again at the top left (perhaps this was what was being edited in my first point) is a little distracting.
All in all though, a very attractive model with nice skin. Have a second light from the left to balance the shadow, and don't edit with a thirty pixel brush..

I was going to look up all the various effects and explain in more detail, but I would've only ended up paraphrasing the page I was reading, and making myself look cleverer than I really am, so here's the link..

hopefully that'll answer any questions you have, and some you didn't even know you needed to ask..
I will add one thing, and that is that if for instance, you're shooting IR photography, you'll notice that on some lenses you have a seperate focus scale on the lens. This is because the IR wavelength (which is outside the red, and so even further away from the blue band) actually needs to be focussed differently, to get the subject in focus, because of the difference in the angle of refraction of that wavelength of light.. but I digress.. as usual.

Chromatic aberation, caused by the difference in wavelength between red and blue light.

That'll give you a start, but there are tools to correct it, especially if you're shooting RAW. It's especially noticeable on small branches shot against a bright white sky.

It is decipherable from the manual, but only as two separate [cryptic] instructions a few pages apart IIRC, and you have to tie them in together yourself.
