I remember being dragged out one lunchtime by some twitcher colleagues to see a waxwing near Slough (1st time there apparently). Luckily someone came along with a spotting scope and there it was waaaay over there. They were chuffed. Never seen one since. Lovely bird

I'm thinking of a project to convert a teleconverter to pass the autofocus drive from my Kr through a TC to an autofocus lens by replacing the mounts on the TC and fiddling the internals.

If anyone has a dead lens with the mount intact I'd be interested.

Wasn't me Richard. Mine was a lot less but its the Z-500 not the more expensive 31A. Its a big boy but fine on a tripod out of the window.

Having looked carefully at the mount one of the flanges was slightly bent. I eased it up and now all is well. Thanks for your help.

I've a long way to go with the lens. Its a bit of a beast Tamron 200-500mm, learn to focus again!

Recently bought my K-r and thought I'd try the backwards compatibility so bought an adaptall lens. Unfortunately I can't get the mount to engage in the camera body sufficient to engage the locking pin. It seems to go round about half way and stop. I was worried about applying much force until I had some advice. Can anyone help?
