[quote:3496ace15f="iceblinker"]
Why :
It's a problem area and one of the things I don't like about the feedback star ratings system. Buyers aften feel outraged about postage and whether it's justified or not can often be a moot point.
I don't sell as a business but I put in an estimate of postal charges that inlcudes a bit of headroom for the packaging and printed lables I have to buy. And indeed it costs real money to drive over to the Post Office and a small amount of headroom is reasonable and allowed under eBay rules.
You must allow for packaging within your "p&p" as this costs money, if you didn't charge for packaging then that item that your selling for 99p will cost you money.
I do get annoyed though when actual postage is only £1.50 and the seller charges £6.50 for p&p.
There are too many sellers on EBay avoiding 'final evaluation fees' by over inflating the p&p.
I remember looking on EBay for a saxophone for myself, something not too expensive, and when I looked closely the seller wanted ....... £160 for postage & packaging.
What a rip off and I reported them to EBay.
Personally I allow up to £1.00 for packaging on my items (depending on what it is) which covers the cost of the packaging etc.. which I think is very fair.
ps Good luck with the sale of the mag iceblinker.

Fair point, but the Pentax Li-Ion batteries in the K10D and K20D do have a specification that is different from the batteries that many people are buying as an alternative. The batteries also fit perfectly and are made to a high level of quality.
Pentax may not make them, but they do choose their supplier. The label that is just stuck on also fits perfectly and doesn't peel off!
I have seen plenty of photographers struggling to make non-marque items fit. The most scary was someone using a kitchen knife to prise a Microdrive out of his Canon G3.
After spending good money on good kit I don't begrudge buying the proper Pentax accessories.
Why spent £700/£800 or more on a camera and skimp on the accessories? Don't make sense to me.
I last spent £32 on a 'genuine' Pentax battery.
The same 'genuine' Pentax D-LI50 battery is available for £30.30 at present (Amazon).

With the K10/K20 I would only use genuine Pentax Li-ion batteries.
Cheapo brands may work but is it worth damaging a camera for the sake of £30 ?? Some manufacturers will only guarantee their products when using genuine batteries.
