Couple of shots from this morning using Pentax-M 50mm F4 Macro

As my Spanish wilderness photos were so well received !!! the other day I thought I would share a couple more taken this morning with the M series 50mm F4 Macro.
For some reason this lens has a really bad habit over over exposing on the K10D.

I have to agree with everyone else the butterfly shot is my favorite also. (cloned or not you did a fantastic job.
I take my hat off to you and the way you have of capturing the moment.
Photography is a foot print for the future.

Thanks.
Have redone the cricket as I thought he looked overexposed.

Lovely. The cricket is certainly better a bit darker; it had a slightly bleached look before, although in the sunlight I imagine it could easily have looked like that.

Butterfly exceptional too, although I think I prefer the more natural and more three-dimensional look of the original - especially since you haven't also cloned out the grass blade sticking up between its wings.

Regarding the overexposure - I take it you're aware of the stop-down metering issues with pre-A lenses and the K10D?

With my 300mm F4 K mount I use manual mode, meter with the green button and then adjust the exposure with 3 clicks on the front wheel and this works out about right every time. With this lens though it seemed to be all over the place, requiring different settings for virtually every picture.

What happens if you meter wide open, and then calculate the shutter speed required for the aperture you end up choosing?

The cricket is a grasshopper and most, if not all, pre 'A' series lenses have a metering problem when stopped down from wide open on the K10D and probably the K20D.
