Therein
"we are using 200 here because thats the native ISO of a CMOS sensor"
"that means you are going to capture more highlight detail than at a 100 ISO"
"common misconception that the lowest ISO is always the best"
Oops I've been labouring under the delusion that the lowest ISO is the "best"
Is this guy right, have I been abusing my K30?

Does it mean I'm going to have to wait longer for a Pentax FF?

Weather forecast not looking too great at the mo but there's time enough for that to change yet.
Will try and get something worth posting!
Thanks again gents.

Anyone got any tips on shutter speeds for propellers? I guess they freeze at 1/500 and there must be a tradeoff with clarity of the airframe through the air if slower (Although I know the planes I'm going to see are not that fast )?
Thanks

No problems with focussing on the K30 here. Set the AF area to pinpoint expanded haven't used it enough on any other setting to say if thats making a difference, it just seems OK with the little use its had on that setting.
Does seem to cycle when I'm pointing at a high aircraft but as others have said in other posts on this subject using the focus ring to get it nearly there seems to stop that. Seems like a good enough reason to get the DA to me.

Seen vid on the net where people are strapless ie totally handheld but thats a step too far for me.
Any recommendations for a wrist strap arrangement where the DSLR is held in the shooting (assuming you are R Handed and the left supports) hand and the strap has a safety/no drop/control function?
Thanks
