FAJ is a good performed too....any reason for replacing it?
Here in Finland Sigma 18-300 mm is 449 € - 475 €
and Pentax 55-300mm WR is 415 € - 459 €
The old FAJ 75-300 mm was 130€ - 180€.
So 55-300mm in on different price class and it should be much charper but is it worth using money to that or to Sigma.

I'm looking for new telepnoto zoom up to 300mm to replace my older FAJ 75-300mm zoom. I have two alternatives: HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR and Sigma 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Macro OS HSM C

But which one is better at the long end and in lower light. Any practical experiencies (from both)?
In Finlad they're just as expensive.
BW. Camera is Pentax Kx.

I have pieces of copper and aluminium tapes, I'll try with those first.

This might be old issue, but I didn't find any pictures on where I have to clean the paintig off from Vivitar AT-22 extension tube to get "stop-down" metering to work.
Now my tube works totally manually; I have to adjust shutter speed and aperture both manually and change them if picture is under/over exposed. Green buttom (Tv Shift) adjust the speed only according to full aperture.

It's nice to hear others opinions.
On that picture there are some elements that dosen't look very natural as Bob (gwing) said, like birch bark (too light, IMHO).

Exposure +0.5 EV (or +1 EV) would be needed and then play stand and background would be better, but the problem is snow, its too flat.
