Exactly what I'd like to see too John but the Sony example does not bode well, I'd love Pentax's People to have all the say in the "New Stuff" but I find it very difficult to believe that Ricoh will not want to have a large input. It's their money after all and they have their own ideas on where they want to take this and in the end thats the direction it will go, it may or may not be with the "Ex" Pentax Staffs approval. What started out with Sony as a Partnership of sorts became a total domination fuelled by the desire to be No1, OK Ricoh only are aiming for No3, so they say but they will have to offer all the whistles and bells the others do, which will mean some changes and the individualism that is the Pentax we all love may be lost in the change, I like you want a Pentax Camera not just a me too Camera...

Not trying to be negative here, the other half of the glass may give us something better than we ever dreamed of...

Perhaps they could offer the cuddly toy in a range of colour options?

Ahh, I had got carried away with myself there and of course your right John, most lenses these days are pretty well corrected.
Just postulating, theories, welcomed here.
Will it still follow Pentax's ethos at all?
Sony Sensor/non Sony?
New Sensor tech?
On Chip AF?
F8 focus points?
More focus points?
OVF/EVF? Or both? Or EVF and no mirror? (Mirrorless)
Grip built in/Seperate?
Built in Wifi/GPS? Or Wifi/GPS/Astrotracer built into Accessory Grip?
New battery because of the above?
Oh all right then! FF of APSC?
Physically larger Camera, generally? (Not just because of above)

Change is on the way, it needs to be different, (My opinion only!) in order to gain traction, Canikon/Sony have a huge lead and uber marketing. Ricoh say They want to be number three, thats going to take a good deal of marketing, are we seeing any signs of this yet?

So then do we think the K3 will be APSC or FF?
Anyone, erm throw any light on the application of curved sensors, sorry bad pun intended.

P.S.
If you think the moderation of this forum is strict buy a Nikon and join Nikonians, that'll teach ya.

More often than not people swap systems, dump all their previous kit, then disappear, not a sweeping generalisation, just an observation. Done it enough times myself actually with all the Systems I've owned!
Not everyone is the same of course I like Pentax's ergonomics and small size, If they can carry that forward to FF maybe with a curvey Sensor, I'd be very happy indeed! Tried a lot of other systems, Liked Nikons but the Customer service sucks Eggs! Always found Canons a fight(YMMV).
The Sony A900/850, were a joy but then they mucked it up! (Way to go Sony!) All Subjective and my own opinion, I just want a Camera/System that I'm not fighting with all the time, currently I'm happy
"Just hold a Pentax".

I think most of us understand that John, however I am talking about direct comparison with Pentax products, or at least 'with reference to', jules has been doing this recently and has not been reprimanded?

I'm sure you'll make the correct judgement call either way if/when simon decides to write something.
Dobber!

Got out on the bike, with it yesterday, To what's left of the nearest bit of wildflower meadow, just about the last of the poppies, and a quick scoot out to brugh Marsh on the Solway coast, all in all about two and a half hours riding for ten minutes photography.
I am very happy with the performance...
