Oh I think it is so grand to have been chosen a winner...twice in such a short time. I can tell you that if Mr Tree Bark was surprised before, he will be delighted now! I am so excited. and I am trying to be very humble too

Congrats to all the others who took a placement too. Welcome to Aurora, I have a wee bit of a feeling that if you had of posted on time that the judge might have leaned into a different winner. I LOVED your shot!!!

I have a fun topic up my sleeve....and will post it soon.

Regards...and thank you Darlene

Even though I never met this chap before, he claims that he had lived on my land for over 50 years. I told him he did not look a year over twenty, thus the suprised expression!!

Oh I see. I would say that you are approved for your silhouettes. Did you feel answered?

I am still in the hunting mode myself. I am finding it challanging and very fun indeed!

I am awaiting your creativity Doug!

Thanks John, I am glad that you would ask for more from the weekly judge, then just picking his favorite shot. I LOVE the way the competitions are run. I would be one member who would hate to see all that change.

I do trust that Alex Luther will do the comments this time, as you might remember with the Comp "Generation" he only picked a winner.

It was disappointing to just have comments on a select few this week...although that is better then NONE!!!

Hello Doug...I don't believe that Darlene will be reading this thread, as Judges like to be unbias, not swayed by others opinion. I think you should PM her with your question. Unless you are saying that you did PM her and that was her answer?
If that was her answer then I would say yes....Side views and silhouettes that are faces are in!(sorry about misunderstanding you before:blush

I drove around Saturday looking for a house that had two upper windows, a Door in the middle, but below the windows and some steps...hoping it would look like a face! (windows as eyes...the door as a nose.....the stairs as teeth or mouth) No LUCK!!!

Silhouettes OK?
I do not think that would be finding a face in something. I assume you mean taking a silhouette of a person???? However you could alway PM Darlene and ask.

I do not know how I saw so many faces peering out at me as a kid.....I am going nuts looking for them these past few day! SIGH!!!

Hey.. That is so cool.

I remember when the first pictures of Mars came back from NASA, and you could see the image of a face. I watched a tv show where a reporter explain that one of the first things we see as babies, is a face, and in the first few weeks of life, faces are very important, and leds to our first smile. It was explained that we can often see images of faces in things, because it comes from our first impressions of life, and in a deep sence, faces leave deep imprints on us, all our lives.

I remember as a kid, falling asleep looking at Gramma's wallpaper of tiny flowers, and finding funny and strange looking faces in among the flowers.

Of course I have no idea how I could photograph that! Oh well, that old farm house is gone anyway. I am on an adventure now...looking for faces that are lurking at me from the unknowns.

Wow you are a quick working Judge, Glyn, that is nice to see after the weekly competition. I thank you for your insight and comments.

Congrats to Darlene, It was my favorite! I knew it was a winner. Darlene this is your first win too. I did a score system when I judged and it made it much easier. Feel free to check it out and use it, modify it, do what ever works...if it is a help. (It is the Macro mystery in the weekly.

Beautiful flower picture. Hope you have 'others' in Newfoundland to help you celerbrate. I await your next theme!

Nice work everyone....it was such a simply, yet great topic!
