Hi James - you mention that you're only looking at the images on the rear LCD. I believe that on the K20D the images can be viewed at well above 100% (if my memory serves me right then 11x magnification is equal to 100% on a computer screen). If you are using magnifications higher than this then the images may well look a touch soft.

Thanks Mannesty, that's all I need to know - my 43mm seems to backfocus ever so slightly, but looks like the K20D will sort that out!

Just a quick question on the lens adjustment (for FF/BF) on the K20D - the specs say it will store data for up to 20 individual lenses, but are there limitations on what type of lenses are able to utilise this function, e.g. DA, FA, F, third-party lenses etc?

I love the composition & the colours in the last one!

I do agree with you that strobing the flash for AF-assist is a serious design error - at the sort of events where you'd need it it's usually completely inappropriate.
I'd always thought this too, & do agree that it's not a brilliant solution in certain circumstances, but I was interested to see the Nikon D700 (I think)criticised in a recent review for the fact that its AF assist light is obscured by most lens hoods - the reviewer ended up longing for the clunky old pop-up flash method!

Some of the best bokeh I've seen recently is on this guy's set on Flickr, taken with a Leica-R 90mm f/2 Summicron on a K20D:

Actually, that one lens does need adjustment, but it needs two. My DA* 50-135mm lens BF's at 50mm, and FF's at 135mm. Go figure . . . 'cause I can't.
I've come across this phenomenon before with a Canon 28-105mm lens - it backfocused very slightly at the wide end, but front focused considerably at 105mm.

EDIT: Typo

Thanks for posting those, Mike. I'm impressed with its performance with the teleconverter - I might have to try to get hold of one.

Love the shot of your dog!

Thanks Mike! I'd also be interested to see how it does with the 2x TC, which takes it to 1:1, I think...?
