Mid morning bump And to say the Tamron 24/2.5 (as new) is £50 incl UK postage (without adapter). Make me some reasonable offers before I resort to EBay....

Mat - wonderful series. You obviously manage to get to Richmond a lot earlier than me. By the time I get dog and kids in the car and across south London, these kind of views are long gone sadly.....

I think a few of us have taken advantage of the incredible price that SRS is offering the final few Sigma 50-150's at, but today's deluge hasn't been a great start (I know, the 50-135 is weather resistant but sadly unaffordable at the moment....).

I'm really impressed with the build quality of the Sigma, and hope the IQ matches up. But so far all I've been able to do is spend a few minutes tonight compulsively fiddling indoors!

I'm impressed so far, but think I may need to adjust for a bit of front-focussing - I need to be more compulsive to be sure of that, and it ceases to be an issue from around f3.5 onwards. In the meantime, a couple of my first quick shots with it, taken at ISO1000 on the K-7 so hardly going to show it at its best:

I took these deliberately because the lens is supposed to be at its weakest when at its closest focussing point - and that's where the first shot was taken. I have to say that at actual pixel level, it looks plenty sharp enough to me, so I'm thinking the lens may be rather better than some of the comments you read on the web (which I guess is true of pretty much every lens!).

Looking forward to see what other people do with the lens, and let's hope for a let-up in the weather over the weekend.

Cheers,

Jon

Hi Carl,

My 50-150 arrived earlier this week, and had no problem with the free postage so I'm sure it'll be fine. And if not, I'm confident SRS will sort it out for you because they're that kind of shop!

Enjoy it when it arrives - I'm very impressed so far but need to use it in anger yet.

Jon

Open to sensible offers close to asking price. Could be persuaded to separate the Tamron PKA adapter from the 24mm lens, if the price was right....

Yes - OME-53 fits all the digital SLRs (I assume that is what you need it for?). SRS Microsystems will sell them and if you are a member of this site, you get free P&P
