I've recently used Harman Labs for some C41 processing and, to be honest, I'm not sure I'd use them again. The link to the scans I'd paid for wasn't sent until I chased, the box I'd ordered to keep the prints and negs wasn't supplied (the usual paper envelope instead) and the whole thing took rather a long time. The actual quality of the processing I have no complaints with, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

And, please don't shoot me here, but I think the antidote to shooting film....is to shoot film! So spoiled with digital these days that it's quite a shocker to see how grainy those film shots are!

Yes they're lovely compact lenses far removed from modern behemoths.... In this instance I'd use it without a hood though - as the joy of this lens is to embrace its character, especially wide open, and positively provoke the rainbow flare it's been designed to create.....

Perfect example of this lens has been lying around largely unused since purchase in March 2024. New, they retail at c.£350-£400 so this is a real bargain at £200 incl UK postage. Boxed with everything it came with (caps, ND filter and filter case) plus original receipt as still some remaining guarantee.

In Pentax's own words, this single-focus standard lens has been designed to provide a unique image rendition — rainbow flare in particular — resembling that of a lens designed more than 50 years ago. In essence, you can get some fabulous flare when used with open apertures - and used with skill you'd get some very characterful portraits - but it performs much more like a standard lens when it's stopped down. Peta Pixel has a good review (Chris Nicholl) if you want to see more.

Please PM with any questions etc.

Cheers,

Jon

Not much to add to the title really, boxed and barely used 1.2X magnifying eyecup which fits all Pentax dSLRs. Great accessory especially if you use manual focus lenses (even more so for those bodies that don't have swappable focus screens) and also keeps your eye and nose just that little bit further away from the rear LCD screen.

£20 incl postage within the UK.

Cheers,

Jon

Comment by JonSchick posted on Alternative to official charger for Li90 batteries? at 14/07/2024 - 15:33

Just back from Dublin and can offer for those interested:

* Patona Dual PD Performance Charger - fast charging via USB C (incl, as is the transport bag). This is a generic charger with two slots, and I have also got two plates for the Pentax D-LI90 batteries. These could obviously be replaced by other plates if you want to use different batteries (so a bit like the Hahnel ProCube in that respect). I can also include 1 as new (used once) Patona Premium battery. Together, these cost Eur 79 new and were purchased direct from Patona in March this year. Looking for £40 incl postage, and can provide photos etc if required.

* Unused boxed Ricoh Pentax K-BC90E Charger with all cables etc, plus an accompanying used once boxed Original D-LI90 battery. Together these would cost approx £115-120 new, and looking for £60 incl postage, which is an excellent deal for original manufacturer equipment!

Surplus because when I found myself with multiple Pentax bodies, I ended up with a surfeit of batteries and chargers that I didn't need! that said, personally I dislike relying on charging in camera, so for people like me, perhaps one (or both ) of these might be useful!

Cheers,

Jon

Just seen one prominently displayed in a shop in Dublin.... Actually in the flesh it's in my view a much more attractive camera than it looks in the photos. Looks like it has been designed with much care, precision and attention to detail. Good to see Pentax have got them out in the shops too... X100vi and D Lux 8 potential buyers would kill for that!
