Photographs of all items now added below:

Tamron 24/2.5 plus hood and PKA adapter. Please note: this lens is still under manufacturer's warrantee! It was bought as surplus stock less than a year ago from KEH in the States, and came with a Tamron 6 year warrantee. Apart from marks on the lens cap, it is absolutely as new. The PKA adapter is in nice shape too:

Pentax 135/3.5 SMCM.
Again, I think you'd be hard pushed to find a better example. Lovely example of a popular lens and very good value. Comes with a Hoya UV filter:

Very nice, and worth viewing in separate windows to get the most of them. I'm with Gareth - the two Rough Tor shots are great.

Or for less than £100, you could look for an old Pentax SMCM manual focus macro lens - cheapest is likely to be the 50mm f4, which is a beautifully made jewel of a lens and produces great images (1:2 though, not 1:2). I think you'd get a really good one for around £70. The 100mm f4 SMCM is no slouch either.

No I'm not leaving Pentax and not buying another SLR system. But I'm continiuing to be as ruthless as possible with the amount of stuff I've amassed over the years, and it's time for me to admit that my needs are adequately met by a small number of zooms (incl the WR kits) and the occasional prime just for the hell of it.

So the following are in my "under-utilised and need to go to someone who'll love them" list. I will post photographs tonight, and please PM if you are interested:

Tamron Adaptall 2 24mm/2.5 INCL PK-A ADAPTER

As new condition lens, boxed with original caps. I have owned the lens from new. Adapter works perfectly, so in combination this provides a fast wide angle on dSLR, works with all modes on the camera body but is manual focus only. Also comes with an original matched Tamron hood that shows some sign of wear. I am not keen to separate the lens and adapter (at least not at this point). Price for the combination is £100 incl RMSD in the UK.

Pentax 35mm/2.8 SMCM

There is a separate thread about this lens in the classifieds and I'm amazed it has not gone yet! Superb condition and great results. Price drop to £45 incl recorded delivery in the UK.

Voigtlander Nokton 58mm/1.4

Highly regarded and highly sought-after. Likely to become something of a collector's item given that production of the PK mount lenses has now ceased. I am the original owner and the lens comes boxed with original caps, and the original hood. Optically and mechanically perfect. Cosmetically shows minor signs of use (marginal brassing around the aperture ring). If you can get one, these go for around £360+ new, but mine is on offer for £175 incl RMSD in the UK.

Pentax 135/3.5 SMCM

Superb condition with caps. Great compact lens that is one of the most popular of the SMCM primes. Nice for things like gig photography if you want a reasonably fast but small unobtrusive lens that nobody bothers about. Price £50 incl recorded delivery in the UK.

Kenko Teleplus DG 2X converter

As new and boxed. I'm the original owner and frankly it's hardly ever been used. Decent quality though and the results when paired with a good lens are excellent. Screwdrive lenses still autofocus (but SDM only lenses will only manual focus) and all aperture info etc is passed to the camera, so with modern lenses and bodies it is a much better bet than old manual TCs. Brand new these are £140, but you can have this one for £80 incl RMSD in the UK.

Pentax Ghostless 49mm UV filter

Boxed (bit tatty) and something of a collector's item. Best for people who have one of the 50/1.4 screw thread lenses as this filter was designed to be a perfect match for those. £5 incl 1st class postage in the UK.

Please PM if you have any questions. Thanks for looking,

Jon

The shop nearer to Warren Street from Kingsley Photographic is Spectrum - enter with caution as they are very cagey about prices even though they have extensive stock. I don't like their attitude and some of what sales staff have told me is plain wrong/misleading.

Opposite Kingsley is West End Cameras, which sometimes has some nice secondhand stuff but you need to be careful with the prices as they can be a little ambitious.

The shops near the British Museum include York Cameras (hugely pricey) and Camera City (ditto), but in a little courtyard around there is Microglobe. If you know what you want and they have it in stock, they can be very competitive but it's clearly mainly an internet operation and the shop isn't really one where they demonstrate things.

The shop near Holborn is RG Lewis - great for Leica but not usually for Pentax.

Favourite shops in London don't tend to be near where you are staying but there is a Jacob's on King's Road (about 10-25 minutes walk from you) which might be worth a phone call and visit (their website gives tel numbers for each of their stores).

Otherwise, I would recommend:

Cameraworld on Wells Street, just off Oxford Street (again worth phoning first but they tend to have a good lens selection, often offering the independent manufacturers in Pentax mount. Prices often competitive too).

Jacobs on New Oxford Street, near the Centrepoint Building (they will have these lenses but quite possibly not in Pentax fit).

LCE on The Strand, near The Savoy. Nice shop but not always the cheapest. Also likely to stock lots of higher end zooms, and will probably have some in Pentax fit.

Is there a reason why the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 is not in your list?
