I'm not sure where you sent it, but the correct procedure would be to approach the seller first of all. If that had been SRS then you would have received your replacement almost instantly.

The back up if the seller is not possible is the UK repair facility, which is JP Service Solutions.

Where did you send it to?
I'm sorry John, but if Pentax wants to be taken seriously then they need to offer high quality service to buyers of their equipment from any decent camera dealer, not just SRS. I am a big fan of our friends in Watford, and buy lots from them (not just Pentax) but telling people they need to buy from one dealer in particular in order to get half decent service does not make for a brand that is likely to survive in the longer term. If I had paid £1,000 or more for a new camera and then had to wait 5 weeks without seeing it back from repairs, I would be extremely hacked off.
You have put an interpretation on what I wrote that was not intended.
Sorry for any unintended interpretations. I do feel, however, that Pentax need to be able to offer better than a five week turnaround for an expensive piece of kit - aftersales service is something that you hope you will never need, but when you do you need it to work well. WHE are hardly fly by night operators, and if I was in Lemmy's shoes, I would be, as I said, hacked off (to say the least). With Pentax.

Following on from my previous classified, K-7 (boxed with extras),boxed Samsung 16-45 and boxed WR50-200 are all that remain. Images in this thread - please PM me with any questions or sensible (close!) offers:

Pentax K-7 - including OME53 magnifying eyecup, additional Pentax battery and Pentax remote release

Price reduced to £465 incl insured RMSD in the UK (but not incl PayPal fee). Rear LCD has been protected with glass protector from new. Camera comes boxed with cables, manual, CD, strap, etc and also the original eyecup. Shutter count is a little under 8,500 so lots of life left in it yet!

The camera has been very well cared-for and shows only very minor signs of use. Everything works as it should.

Original receipt from SRS will be included, as the camera was bought in Jun 2009 so there are a few months remaining of the 2 year pro-dealer warrantee.

WR50-200 lens - boxed as new

Used on a handful of occasions, and very nice performance for the size and price - great for UK weather too! Superb condition. Please note that I have received an offer from abroad for this lens. It is therefore available only for the asking price of £75 incl RMSD in the UK - otherwise by the end of the weekend it will be taken off this thread and readied for travel to sunnier climes....

Hmmm - given the range of lenses you currently have, with all kinds of overlaps, I wonder why you've amassed them all, and what they are used for? It looks like you've tried to build up a kit that's capable of everything from macro to moonshots and just about anything else!.. but without that many really high quality lenses.

I'm with Mike P - if you are sticking with lenses from your collection, I'd keep the fisheye, 16-45, 50mm and Tamron macro lens. Get rid of your longer zooms, buy a decent telephoto, and you'd have a nice kit.

Yes - the M* and A* lenses are excellent and surprisingly compact. Both are prone to some purple fringing (but can be processed out) and the only other downside (apart from MF) is that they do not focus terribly close. Other than that, highly regarded and often priced to reflect that!
