And on the subject of big dreams, I think the K-3 should continue to be a rugged high performing and well specified APSC body - the current crop are already more capable than most of us who use them in any case...

...and the thinking big bit would be to bring out an update to the 645D - it's a unique proposition that does something a little bit different to any of its closest competitors, and gives Pentax a nice niche to play in. It would be a great pity if the current body was a one-off.

If you have one that is optically superb and cosmetically in really good shape but don't use it as much as you should, please let me know! Would need to be with me by no later than next Thursday......

I'm not so interested in well-worn examples (or the one with fungus that Ffordes are currently advertising at a very competitive price...).

Cheers,

Jon

Monday was good. Last night less so....

Richmond's a nice place to be though. Especially the park first thing.

....sometimes it just has to be done. Taken last night with the K-5 and Tamron 500/8 SP which I have to bring out every now and again:

Agree - the K-5 at that price with a two year guarantee is an absolute bargain. Fantastic camera.

Was too busy chatting and sunbathing to take many photos, but I'd taken the camera so I had to make sure it got used once or twice.... (MX-1):

Well in that case I'd personally also seriously consider the Sigma 50-150. Superb lens which I think performs at least as well if not better than the Pentax, has more reach at the long end, hasn't had the same issues with SDM, and may be cheaper on the odd occasion you can find one.

My Mancunian routes are still there on occasion!

Best portraits I got from Pentax gear were taken with the DA70Ltd and FA77Ltd. Both exceptional and hard to choose between them, although the DA arguably makes more sense on an APSC sensor.

Appropriately, there's almost a Lowry-esque aspect to that image John! I rather like it, and the high key effect works really well too.
