Now those sound like two very interesting lenses indeed. Unfortunately the filing of patents is no guarantee that the lenses will ever see the light of day and as NigelK already commented, even if it was, with Pentax you can't hold your breath for such things.

I think they will come to regret having a fixed screen and it will lose them a lot of sales. Like others, it's not a deal-breaker for me, my K-3 doesn't have a tilting screen but my two Fujifilm cameras do and they're incredibly useful, especially for focusing manually.

I'm sure the viewfinder will be very nice, but I doubt it will allow precise focusing of, for example, a fast 85mm manual focus lens. That can be done better on a screen than on an APS-C viewfinder, and allowing the screen to tilt makes it a lot easier.
Assuming you can see the screen.....which is almost impossible when the sun shines
But this is the advantage of a tilting screen. You can move it to avoid the glare of the sun
Exactly.

I used my Fujifilm X-M1 (no viewfinder) for around two years with only adapted lenses, focusing manually for every shot, and I live in Madrid where the majority of days are sunny and not just UK sunny - shooting film without a meter I use sunny-22 rather than sunny-16.

I doubt I'll buy the K-new because, like Kris, my K-3 still works fine. Better AF and high-ISO performance would be nice but I expect the new camera to cost almost as much as the K-1, given that the KP almost is in FF mirrorless price territory and it's not a flagship.

If you have a camera that accepts a battery grip (such as a K-3 or K-5), then it might be worth getting one of the cheap knock-off grips (or a used genuine one) and modifying it to add wiring that runs to a battery pack that you can keep warm, similar to the idea mentioned in a post above. I don't think I'd want to do that to a genuine new one but wouldn't mind modifying a cheaper one.

I would certainly take a medium format film camera too, probably one that didn't need batteries at all, though I have the accessory for the original 645 that allows an external battery pack to be kept warm.

I think DXO still doesn't analyse Fujifilm cameras that have their unique colour layout of pixels on the sensor, so bear in mind that all of their medium format cameras won't be represented on the list. I imagine that if they were, they'd be rated very highly too. I think most of them use the same sensors but with a different colour filter array placed over them, so I would expect performance to be essentially equal.

The M 35/2 is one of my favourite manual lenses and I've read the K variant is even better. I hope you enjoy using it.

As already stated by others, your best bet would be to rate it around 160 to 200 if you're going to use it.

However, given it's age, that you don't know how it's been stored and that even if it's viable at all it will likely have horrible colour shifts, if it were me I wouldn't bother.

I think it's for the user to set the price according to condition. As someone who lives in Spain, I have noticed that used items in the UK typically go for prices that are lower than here as they are more common and the market is greater. It would be very easy to base the price on the local market rather than the UK one and prices would appear inflated.

Having said that, I have never seen a 50/1.2 of any brand, let alone Pentax (whose 50/1.2s I would regard as among the very best) go for under £200 unless it was faulty or in very poor condition.

I use the flash on my K-3 very, very rarely and probably about 50/50 between lighting a dark area for a functional (rather than artistic) shot and for fill-flash when the subject is in shadow. It's certainly more useful than a battery-sucking GPS unit.

However, flashes are generally not provided these days on anything other than lower-grade bodies, apparently the manufacturers are extremely confident in the abilities of users to raise shadows in all circumstances.
