Interesting to read of the factors In getting ergonomics right, not just on the new camera but presumably others as well. With such fine tuning I wonder how they allow for different hand sizes and shapes? It would account though for the way the bodies handle.

The handling and the feel of Pentax cameras is what largely led to me buying into their DSLRs. I held some lower end Canikon cameras then stumbled on a KX in a shop, held it and was sold. Sadly in a time when it is tough to find a Pentax camera in a shop new potential customers don't get a chance to handle and feel the difference.
Regarding the lenses, I wonder if the 15-45 is the new 16-50 f2.8, the second lens sounds quite unusual, but wouldn't it pair well with the DA* 11-18mm f2.8 to make a great 2 lens kit! I'd be in. Fortunately at the pace that Pentax move I probably won't have to worry about the spend too soon.

Now those sound like two very interesting lenses indeed. Unfortunately the filing of patents is no guarantee that the lenses will ever see the light of day and as NigelK already commented, even if it was, with Pentax you can't hold your breath for such things.

I'd like a slower full frame 15-30mm that has a smaller filter ring so uses 100mm filters!

The DA* 11-18 is very usable on the K-1 so might fulfill that purpose if you can get a low profile filter holder.
