This is a fantastic price for this lens. I'd buy it if I didn't already have the SMC version.

This morning a K 24mm f/2.8 popped up locally so I decided to grab it as I've wanted a genuine Pentax 24mm for years but never managed to get one for anything approaching a decent price. I'd probably have preferred the f/3.5 version, which I've heard is better, but that one's far less common.

Should be here next week some time.

I had forgotten all about this. The manual 200mm lens that I bought from West Yorkshire cameras last year turned out to be in far worse condition than described (unfortunately a common issue with that seller) so I'm still on the lookout.

If it's still available I'll take it, even though I'm not in the UK to pick it up until August.

Another EF lens I'm afraid - a 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5. Someone over on the US forum posted some film photos taken with one and I got it for a good price. If it's OK I think I'll sell the crappy 28-90mm kit zoom and probably the Sigma 24/2.8 too as I never use it.

I got a Tamron 70-210mm f/4, which is the same as the Pentax version, but in EF mount to use on my Lumix S5 (with adapter) and should also work on the old EOS film SLRs I have too.

Unless the lens has an A setting on the aperture ring, which I don't think it does, it will not communicate anything to the camera. You set the focal length and the camera will write shutter speed and ISO to the EXIF but the camera won't know the setting of the aperture so won't be able to write it.

The AF beep is a guide and to set exposure use either the green button to tell you a setting (also a rough guide) or chimp as necessary. Make sure the camera is in M mode.

There are a few companies reconstructing very old lens designs and hoping to give a "vintage" look to photos. Unfortunately for them, you can get a better "vintage" look (much sharper, better colour and contrast, better coatings) from actual vintage lenses that are still around, working perfectly and at a fraction of the cost of the Lomography ones.

If you're considering a K-1 and are interested in vintage lenses I would say that the vintage lens experience, as well as success rate in focusing, is much better on full frame, so better a K-1 than another APS-C model.

Or that it's simply very long-in-the-tooth and sales are slipping...

But 1299 is a good price for this and much better than what seems to be available from the official retailers.

Wow, now up to £499

I saw this on Gumtree and thought it might be of interest. The 28mm f/2.0 lens is mounted on the camera and is a Vivitar (made by Komine) - I have a copy and it's a nice lens. That plus the genuine M42 to K adapter on their own would normally cost about what he's asking for the whole lot.
