I had to look that up as I've never heard of it, but there are no holes in the image...

I have a third-party one that I bought on Amazon I think with two batteries. The batteries were cr*p but the charger still works fine and I don't think it takes longer than my Pentax one.

DSTE is the brand and I bought it in 2014.

One of my favourite things to do with the K-3 and DA 35mm Limited is to take photographs of raindrops on leaves. This can be done while it's still raining (I've never had a problem even though the DA 35mm is not weather-sealed) or just after, though if the sun comes out afterwards then that may drastically increase the contrast and dynamic range in the small scene and lead to many blown-out highlights in the raindrops. Focusing can be tricky and it's important not to over-expose or over-brighten which may reduce the lovely green tones that can be achieved. I like to shoot at f/2.8 or f/4 so that not much is in focus and I feel the images get a nice 3D feel to them.

These are from the other day while it was still drizzling.

I saw them in a shop on Tuesday already for sale.

I think you might mean SMC-M 28mm f/3.5 as there were no M series 24mm lenses. Or maybe a K series 24/3.5?
You're absolutely right and I cannot edit it now - it was indeed the 28mm! Not sure how I made that typo, especially as I don't own any 24mm...

Also, thanks! It's definitely the way to go (I won't dwell on a roll of Kodak Gold 200 slipping after the first frame in Sorrento... missed a good number of shots on the boat trip to Positano, too. Actually gutted about it! )
I thought that was the most likely one. I took an M 28mm f/3.5 on my honeymoon to Cambodia and Vietnam in 2011 but I didn't shoot film back then so I just used it on my K200D.

Very nice images. The 16-85mm is the best Pentax landscape lens I've used.

It did have a problem with screws coming loose internally if I remember rightly.
I think this is a fairly common issue with this lens, I've read about it several times.

When I saw the price yesterday my eyes just about popped out of my head and I spent the next five minutes repeating to myself:

"Five. Hundred. Dollars. For a guess-focus half-frame camera..."

Making it half-frame is a big mistake as it seriously limits the quality it can achieve. Making it guess-focus is another mistake for the same reason. And now the price is out by at least a factor of five.

I will most certainly be sticking to my old film SLRs.
