The 28mm usually goes for around 40GBP & the 50mm for around 70 or 80, assuming they're in excellent condition. The Tamron lenses will be worth maybe 30GBP each (max).

The LX is probably the best manual camera that Pentax ever made and I think it would be worth upwards of 200GBP with the standard viewfinder (correct me if I'm wrong). The rest I can't help you with, I'm afraid, except to say that posting photos of each item will greatly help & allow prospective buyers to view the items.

Nice comparison. I'd say the K & CZ are the winners and the A & K-Tak are the losers. The Sigma looks ok but seems to have a green tint to the pics.

I've seen the CZ rated as the best legacy 135mm there is, but the K seems just as good and faster too, though much more expensive.

Welcome to the Tamron 17-50. I don't believe you will find a copy that won't do this. I recommend checking focus on the screen immediately after the shot. I have my K200D set up to zoom in 8x with one click of the rear wheel for checking focus quickly.

I would sell both & get an M or K f/3.5 instead. The M 28 f/2.8 produces very bland images in my opinion & the slower versions are much, much better. They are not the same optically, but I have both and haven't seen any real difference so far, but I've yet to do much testing. Both are extremely sharp. If you can find an f/2 version then that may be better still, though much more expensive.

I paid £30 for the M version, but only because it was wrongly listed as the f/2.8 version. I'd say £45 is a reasonable price. The K version cost me £75. I should test them & sell one, but that may take me a while...

I think most people want faster lenses, but you have to understand that this is not a lens you buy for speed. You buy it for sharpness, lack of distortion and other fine optical qualities. If you want a fast wide, then you will pay through the nose for it.

The M85mm is superb (though I recommend stopping down to f/2.. I paid 125 quid for mine, and have never seen any other going for even close to that price. You should snap it up.

I have a few films that I won't use for a few months and I've read that they should be refridgerated. But as well as the normal film cases, should I seal them in a ziplock plastic bag, or does it not matter?

Thanks

There aren't any pictures of it with a grip.

Are you sure you aren't looking at the gripped K5?
Ahh, I thought it was a K-01 as it had the new 40mm on it and it's silver.

Did anyone else notice that there appears to be a grip on it?? I haven't seen any reference to it being able to take a grip, don't know if it's a K-01-specific model or if it takes the K5 grip. I suspect the latter as it doesn't real blend aesthetically with the camera finish.

I've been playing about recently with the focus adjustment hack on the K200D, since my new DAL 35mm lens was focusing consistently incorrectly. I've fixed it with a +60 adjustment, but because it's a hack, that adjustment applied to all lenses. I've tested my other lenses and they seem ok with it, the DA 35 ltd is a bit better than before, the infinity focus problem I had with it seems to have been resolved. The only loose cannon is the Tamron 17-50, which displays variable results with any focus setting, no surprises there.

The K200D doesn't have the most advanced or reliable AF system around anyway, so I'll always miss some shots.

When entering the debug menu option for AF adjustment in the K200D, there are two options to change. One is the adjustment amount, which is what I've done so far. The other is "AF Area Test", which has four settings: 1 - 4.

Does anyone know what these AF areas are? Do they indicate that different AF points can have their adjustment amount changed independantly? Or something else entirely?

Nice pic, looks grainy so I'm guessing it was taken on a mobile. Shame it wasn't straightened before being published though.
