Forth Road Bridge in fog

Not sure if posting this is allowed - if not, then I apologise... However, I could not pass up the chance to share such a stunning image!
I decided to post the link to the web page, as the newspaper should be the one to receive the plaudits for it. Anyway, here it is:

Sean - I loved the guy's comments about why the photog never got a shot of the rail bridge too - It was probably hidden in the fog!! Gotta love the Scottish SOH!!

Please do not call it the 'rail bridge'. There are currently two bridges: The Forth Bridge (which the trains go over) and the Forth Road Bridge (which everything else goes over).

Although the new bridge will complicate things!

Being a Weegie, I know this. Unfortunately, some people don't, hence I was making a distinction. Anyway, how's the Forth TRAM Bridge coming along??

I'm hoping it's nearly done. I've been waiting at this stop for years!

It wouldn't be quite so annoying if Glasgow hadn't done such a good job with the new motorway!

Surely the new bridge will be the 'Fifth' bridge?

(Or is it the 'Third Fo(u)rth' bridge? Or maybe the Four Thirds bridge?)

At the moment it's officially called "The New Forth Crossing" or the "Forth Replacement Crossing".

As long as it doesn't become the "Alex Salmond Bridge", I don't care!

Nice pic, looks grainy so I'm guessing it was taken on a mobile. Shame it wasn't straightened before being published though.

I think when you are perched a couple of hundred feet up, with freezing cold winds swirling about you, and an icy-cold bath awaiting some distance below you, your mind tends to focus less on straight angles, or whether your mobile phone's good enough for the shot, and the mind would tend to focus a wee bit more on the prevailing conditions - unless you intent taking part in the annual Loony Dook!!
