It's a nice idea, but for that amount of money it's crazy. Sometimes colour is what makes a photo, so you need that option available.

Anyway, I would never buy a camera that had a minimum ISO of 320, B&W or otherwise.

Looks good. I recently bought an SP1000 and will be picking it up from a service this afternoon.

When you switch on the meter on yours, does it go up and then slowly drop down? I assume the initial reading will be the correct one for the exposure.

I was confused, I didn't realise there was a screw-mount camera called the K. It is beautiful, as are most mint-condition cameras from that era.

I hope you enjoy it.

Which model is that?

I thought that the P series (and onwards) no longer used foam light seals, presumably due to a design change or tighter tolerances in production. Am I wrong? I have seen a P30 and it seems to have partial foam light seals on the door, but they don-t look like they ever extended all the way around.

Many thanks for the help.

I bought this thinking I could use it on my K200D, but it appears to be for the older, smaller-sized viewfinders which I believe were used on all Pentax SLRs prior to the M-series (MX, ME etc). It should therefore fit K-series and spotmatics etc. It's slightly too narrow to fit on the viewfinder of my DSLR.

The condition is excellent, with clean optics and virtually no external marks. It comes in a little leather case which is in very good condition. The magnifier flips up out of the way & clicks into place when down. It is adjustable for glasses-wearers.

I'm asking what I originally paid for it: £16 including first class postage. Payment by bank transfer (preferred) or through Paypal if you're really averse to bank transfers.

I won't be able to post it until Monday the 7th of May as I'm currently out of the country.

Thanks for looking, photos below.

Hi,

I recently acquired a used MX which is in good condition on the whole, but had virtually no light seals or mirror bumper left. I took it in to a local shop for a new bumper & seals (£34) and they now look ok to me except inside the mirror box, along the sides of the focusing screen. Here they do not seem to have been replaced but are not severely degraded. I can't imagine much light getting in there.

I've now run a roll of film through the camera & quite a few of the shots show light leakage. Most of the shots are ok though, so it's intermittent. Some shots were entirely destroyed.

Ths most common leak seems to be across the centre (top to bottom), and I thought maybe the judas window is causing it?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The limited is sharper, but the DAL is plenty sharp enough, so that's no problem. The ltd has better colours, contrast & micro contrast, those are the areas where it excels.

Welcome to the forum, and welcome to photography & Pentax.

The DAL 35mm f/2.4 is a nice lens, but lacks features, and more importantly the IQ, of the DA 35mm limited. Some will argue with that, as the f/2.4 is a lot of lens for the money.

LBA is an enjoyable past-time too, as long as you keep it under control, and as long as you use the lenses you acquire.

I like the results. I understand age does make film grainier.

I wish I had access to cheap film development. I got my first roll developed the other week & it cost me €15 with prints & low-res scans. That was with a special offer & from now on it'll be €20, more for B&W
