I have prints and a scan made simply because I like to have the prints. It does cost more though! Shop done scans are quite variable so I'm afraid I pay through the nose for a "pro" lab like The Darkroom UK.

Good luck with the shoot. Despite what some say, film is also available from shops, as well as cupboards .

Get the film processed only and scan the negatives (high resolution). Much better results than scanning poor quality shop prints.

Well, I got the prints and negatives, but I also got the CD from Tescos too, just because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to dig my negative scanner out!I'll display my results, good or bad

I like the results. I understand age does make film grainier.
I wish I had access to cheap film development. I got my first roll developed the other week & it cost me €15 with prints & low-res scans. That was with a special offer & from now on it'll be €20, more for B&W

I'd like to have a go at developing myself. Just to try it, even once. I almost feel that you can't be a proper "tog" until you've developed your own film

Great shots. Developing B&W is reasonably easy and you only really need a dev tank, thermometer, a couple of measures, a changing bag, washing up bowl and the chemicals. With my fist roll I had trepidation when opening the tank at the end, but I had negatives and couldn't quite believe it.

For home developing I highly recomend the AGFA Rondinax tanks.
They turn up on Ebay regularly at reasonable prices and, as long as complete, are easy to use.
I do all my B&W stuff in one with (for me) good results.
There's several up at the moment LINK but make sure you get the 35U model, the 60's for 120 films!

The grain is probably being accentuated by the Tesco scan - I've noticed that the auto settings on these scanners bump up the sharpness massively and this does a great job of highlighting grain!

The viewfinder is excellent! It far outweighs the one on my istDL. It feels nice in the hand. I'm really looking forward to using it again.
