That lens cap is more like a keather type cap, been looking for something different for my 400mm the original sticks in the bottom of the bag...
I am thinking about gettng one of these to put over the hood when i am using it

I bought one on ebay ex USA for my Adaptall 300mm F2.8. Black painted, diecast, uses filter thread. Occassionally available.
