I accept the fact that it's convenient not swapping cards over frequently, and would use a large card for video (if I shot video).
For me, 8gb is BIG; I normally use a collection of 4gb cards and swap them out frequently whilst I'm out and about, whether full or not. They're carried in a waterproof card safe. Contents of the cards are uploaded to a portable hdd from time to time during the day as backup, with contents left on the locked SD card until I'm home
I shoot Raw+JPEG on a K5II.
And 'yes', I appreciate this doesn't directly answer the OP's question, but I want a bit of balance in this thread. Bigger is not always better.
Stating the obvious I know, but depending on how much is shot an 8gb card can be more than big enough! Why not go for more 8gb cards?

You can tether Pentaxes using the free program for windows PKTether (not available for iOS or Android AFAIK).
I use it a lot to take long sequences of 150 - 180 second RAW exposures in bulb mode for astrophotography on my K5, but it would certainly work for less specialised uses. I can set PASM mode (incl B), set the self timer, specify an exposure length and number of exposures, control bracketing, exposure compensation, select RAW or JPEG, select where I save the files on the PC and a host of other stuff. And its free. Whats not to like? I believe you can also set AF/MF but can't swear to that since I always shoot MF for Astro.

I wouldn't expect to get much UV from that LED lamp. LEDs are particularly energy efficent for lighting, which would suggest the vast majority of their output is in the visible. (I know you can get UV LEDs but wouldn't expect them to be used for visual purposes even though the cheaper ones are visible)
I would agree with you, but the OP on the other forum seems genuine in what he reports and I can't see what else would have had cleared the yellow?
